There are alot of jrs with high hopes. And potential but why take a year off. Granted injuries can happen. But its still a paid eduction. and they get to play. Not real sure what happens. With a lockout. But why leave a good thing?
If the NFL has a lockout why would you leave

#13They are taking bad advice. I understand that there is a risk of injury going back to school. I would also think that a year without contact is not good for a player too. I would think that much time off without contact could have a negative effect on the body trying to get into "football shape". This might leave the player who comes out early this year behind a player of the same position who is in better "football shape" next year.Comment -

#14bacon22 that was the point of my thread. Thanx. There is a huge difference between (in) shape and playing shape. There will be some 2011 year cfb players that knock some jumpers out of any contract.Comment -

#15Lesee: another year working on the Plantation chopping cotton for da man under the silly-assed NCAA rulez with the very real chance of a career-ending injury, vice the very good chance of a real paycheck in the NFL?

#20I knew a bunch of the guys on the football team when I was in school. Today, almost to a man these guys say the school screwed them over. Those who got degrees, got them in crap subjects that were mostly worthless for getting a paying job. Almost all have injuries that either ended their school sports career, or has them partially crippled today. The scholarship was a trap, and the school made a lot of money off them. Oh, and 1 guy had an NFL career that lasted 3 games.Comment -

#21Wrecktangle i respect that response. That stuff has happened since sports began. But not to all players. Every athlete any sport can make the best or worst of thier situation. But some have the talent and things are handed to them on a silver platter. And some get hurt and some just waste an opportunity.Comment
