Why are so many poeple on Uconn+17? That barely beat teams that were only halfway decent but those were not dominate wins and mostly due to the tons of turnovers they were lucky to collect. Why shouldn't oklahoma win by 28?

#2Oklahoma may come into this game a little over confident and Uconn needs to win a bowl game. Kinda like the UCF UGA game. 17 points is alot.Comment -

#5have you not been watching the bowls recently? dogs are killing it and you're going to lay 17 to a team with a nice running game. Uconn can slow the game down and take time off the clock. Go lay your 17Comment -

#7UConn has won 5 in a row against some pretty decent teams, and really want this game. OU is probably not excited about the game, and usually choke in BCS bowls against lesser teams.Comment -

When OU played WVU in the Fiesta Bowl, OU had 5 starters that weren't playing. Malcolm Kelly could have played but he didn't because he didn't want to do anything to that might hurt his draft status. I don't think OU took West Virginia seriously either and it turned out that WVU was a really good team. If they had beaten Pitt they would have played in the National title game against Ohio State and I think they would have won that game. WVU's entire backfield played in the NFL. I don't think OU knew what they were up against and didn't take that game seriously.
I kind of get the feeling that OU sets high goals going into the season. The first goal is to win the Big 12. OU is 7-1 in Big 12 championship games. The second goal is to win the national title. If OU doesn't play in the national title game it has seems like they don't really take these other BCS games seriously.
When OU played Boise they didn't show up until the second half when Boise had a pretty decent lead. How can you get excited about playing a team like Boise when your goal was to play in the national title game? It's human nature.
OU showed up against LSU and Florida. OU was throwing into the endzone to tie the game against LSU with 5 minutes left in the game but ended up losing 21-14. Likewise, OU was tied with Florida in the 4th quarter but being inside the 10 yard line twice and coming away with zero points ultimately doomed the Sooners.
As for this game, here is my opinion. This is a very young OU team. I don't ever remember OU playing this many freshman. For that reason, I feel like OU will show up and play a good game. The team is young and hungry. It's not like we have a ton of upper classman that are worrying about the NFL this time. We have a lot of young guys that want to show how good they are.
As for the spread, I feel like 17 was way to much for this game. While this OU team has a ton of potential and will be a title contender in coming years, this team just isn't there year yet. It's an average OU team by Bob Stoop's standards. The Big 12 also sucked this season so winning the conference isn't that great of a feat.
Uconn is a weak BCS team but it's not like they are completely horrible. They won 8 games and beat South Carolina last season. I feel like people are making them out to be a lot worse than they really are.
I think Uconn covers this one and I can easily see OU winning buy only 7-10 points but I wouldn't take Uconn if the line drops below -14.
This is coming from an OU fan. With that said, I'll be rooting for the blowout.Comment
