Do you even know the rules in cfb? Bringing attention to yourself is a 15 yd penalty. A textbook example of that is what this K St nigerian did.

I don't know why a salute is considered excessive or drawing attention to yourself. Isn't a salute a repectful act toward a person or persons?

It's a shame because it was probably the most entertaining bowl game to date. I just feel for Kansas St players and coaches as they have worked so hard all season to get themselves into the situation, only to have the ref literally take the game out of their hands.
It's pretty sad.

Let the players decide the game on the field. Went to the corner of the end zone and saluted the fans, no taunting involved. Sports are emotional and common sense has to be a part of officiating.

i don't think that the fix was in, but i do think that it was a terrible call. really detracted from the end of a good game. OT would've been wild in that one. i've never understood why an official would want to make a call in that situation and inject himself into deciding the game. he has time to talk to the other guys and pick up the flag. in order to make that mistake, you have to really want to make it. what a jerk.

I was on Cuse but I'd have to agree that was a hideous call..I usually hate to be the person that accuses the officials of attempting to influence the gambling aspect of the game but this really makes you wonder why they were even looking for that type of call...
