washington huskies +14 (bodog)- simple here a little trend i follow when it comes up- in bowl games since 1980, double digit dogs that won their last game outright, cover over 74% of the time. Applied to Tulsa (who won outright), Washington

and: Michigan State, and UCONN. Sampling size is about 80 games.

Nebraska isn't close to the same team they were when they played last...this is Locker's last chance to show he belongs in the top10...Nebraska could give a rats ass about this game. They just want to get to the Big10 and their Legends [in their own mind] league. Line down to +13 now and I don't like that number so I'm stuck unless it goes back to 13.5 so I can buy .5.

I also took Tulsa but ornate because Hawaii played a lot easier teams and the teams hawaii faced couldn't score.
This isn't the same situation as tulsa.

              I am taking Nebraska -14.

Jake Locker comes out flying for his last game....putting a little on Huskies ML. Could see Nebraska not caring about this at all....they shouldn't even be in this garbage bowl. Coach Sark will have Washington ready this time.

Trends are something to look at, but should not be the sole determinant of your wager.
I would think that Nebraska would be disinterested and barely win by 3 pts.
Consolation game, they had their sights on a BCS Bowl, even The BCS Championship.
Injuries hurt, especially to QB Sanchez, and they got screwed, too (A&M game).
The reason that Nebraska might win by 40 even though they have nothing to prove (already beat UW) is that the Nebraska coach is the kind of PRICK who will drive the team relentlessly for the entire game. This is very significant
AND Washington had trouble scoring against quality opponents.
                      AND Washington "D" is porous.
AND Nebraska is loaded with future NFL beef on both sides of the ball.
AND Sanchez is healthy... when he was banged up, Nebraska was not the same.
AND Pac-10 (AZ) looked terrible last nite against a Big 12 team (OK St.).
Your trends going back 20 yrs...fine... these teams are TODAY.
So I am going with Nebraska -14.

                              Martinez.... not Sanchez.

Anyway...... I was on the fence on this game..... Nebraska players aren't real hyped about this matchup, Nebraska fans arent traveling to another Holiday Bowl game against a team they already beat by 35 this year, this season was all about winning the Big 12 which they fell short, etc.

BUT Pelini is undefeated in bowl games and will have this team ready to play..... ESPECIALLY the defense. Nebraska doesn't want to lose or even play a close game against a team that they thumped by 35 AT WASHINGTON. They play Washington AGAIN in Sept and they want to send a message. They also want to prove that they are just as good as the team (if not better) that went to Washington last September. Watson (the offensive coord) is hoping to leave Nebraska for a head coaching job at Miami(Ohio) or where ever else. This may be his last game at Nebraska and a last game for his resume. Nebraska rolls again......

                              Nebraska 45
                              Washington 17

I'm closing out a 7-point teaser that I've had hanging out there for a month with open spot left to fill. Nebraska -6. I think this will be a comfortable win for them, something like 34-17.

Locker is gonna get eaten alive again. T. Martinez finally had time to rest his ankle and should be in early season form. The seniors on the team want to go out with a big win.
