The total is suspect. RLM with it opening around 69 and moving down to 67/67.5 with 68% on the over. I'd wait and watch the movement more before pulling the trigger on this one.

Lets analyze what I like to call the FUPA Bowl as two of the fattest coaches in the NCAA square off at RFK Stadium today. This is uncharted territory for Maryland this year, they have only been favored by 7 points or more three times. They were 2-1 ATS (W's over Morgan St. and FIU but lost ATS vs Duke). Since then Freshman QB Danny O'Brien has progressed into a reliable QB for the Terps. He has an impressive TD-INT ratio of 21-6 so mistakes are limited.

Maryland does their damage through turnovers. Their turnover margin of +13 ranks tied for 6th in the nation. Their 17 interceptions ranks them 11th in the nation. ECU's pass heavy offense will give Maryland plenty of opportunities to improve that number. ECU QB Dominique Davis has put up gaudy numbers but his numbers aren't quite as impressive away from home. Comparative his TD-INT ratio is 19-3 at home but that reduces to 17-11 away from Greenville.

There isnt a word in the english language that is harsh enough to describe the ineptitude of the ECU defense. They give up a staggering 43.8 points a game while possessing the 108th ranked pass D along with the 115th ranked rush D. ECU comes in losers of 4 of their last 5 while Maryland is winners of 3 of the last 5. Ralph Friedgen got his walking papers shortly after becoming ACC coach of the year so I see this group playing well in his final game.

I see Maryland coming away with a 45-34 victory, There are plenty of fat coach jokes to be had in this game so come on SBR, lets hear them.

it looks like signs point to maryland covering here. despite the distractions of a head coaching change with friegen out, maryland has much more talent than ECU overall. They also have a strong secondary on defense to handle ECUs spread attack. on offense maryland can put up pts with obrien leading the way and torrey smith an explosive receiver that ECU cannot cover with one player. this could open up the terps offense against a very bad ECU defense. add in the D.C. location and u have an advantage for maryland being closer to home. despite ECU having had much time to prepare i dont see how they can handle maryland in this situation their defense jus doesnt have the athletes. ive noticed ECU has already played 3 ACC teams including a win over NC st so they r not fazed. however, maryland has a stronger defense n look for them to feed off a pro-maryland crowd and eventually exhaust ECUs defense for 4 quarters pulling away in the end. take a shot with maryland to cover here, -7.5.

ECUs defense gave up over 60 to rice and over 70 to navy. i can only sum it up this way, they are inexperienced, lack discipline, miss assignments way too often, and simply dont have good athletes there. this doesnt bode well against maryland because the terps have the talent to exploit this weak unit. if they get off to a nice start ECU could find themselves in for a long day.

I can't overlook that aweful defense. May go Maryland team total over 38 and game total over 68. Still breaking it down to see if ECU's offense is good enough to keep up.
