    #1
    Independence Bowl
Georgia Tech nor Air Force will be able to sneak up on the other today because they both run first from the same triple option offense. Tech is the nation's top rushing team while Air Force is right behind in second. Both teams are similar on offense so there will be few surprises for either. The bottom line is which team can execute better than the other. GT star quarterback Josh Nesbitt is OUT with a broken arm so Tevin Washington will be the man under center for the Yellow Jackets. Washington completed 20 of 48 passes for 376 yards with two touchdowns in a supportive role.

Air Force probably has a more balanced offense with QB Tim Jefferson completing 52 percent of his passes for 1,342 yards, 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He also rushed for 769 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Neither team is very good with run defense ranking 79th and 100th. Air Force has the advantage in pass defense but not likely GT will throw often. AF is 117th and GT is 119th in pass offense.

Tough game to call. Air Force will have home field advantage with Barksdale Air Force Base just miles from the stadium. With QB Nesbitt out, guess I would lean toward Air Force. Good luck with your play.
