    Florida Int. vs Toledo
Won my first bowl wager last night (over) and will not have another one until the Iowa-Mizzouri game. Does anyone know anything about Florida Int. and Toledo. All I know is that Toledo got into some real high scoring games in the 2nd half of their season. Florida Int. showedme nothing either way. Who wins, and more importantly why?

FIU beat up Troy pretty good and from what I saw last Saturday, Troy is pretty good team.

when in doubt, do not back the MAC in bowl games, they've been poison. i believe that the conference has won something like 2 of their last 15 bowl games (including NIU's win last weekend). Toledo's starting QB Dantin is practicing but will not start, may play some. back-up Owens will start, and they've been good since he stepped in (though against weak competition, except for getting pasted by NIU). when MAC matched up with Sun Belt last Saturday, Troy pounded Ohio U pretty well. i dunno, it's FIU or no-play for me, probably no-play.

FIU should take this one. Better all around team and has a pass defense that will give Toledo fits. Toledo has a rush defense that ranks pretty well but don't be fooled by that. Most of the teams that Toledo has faced are pass oriented. And Toledo has struggled to stop the pass that FIU can do. Ty Hilton could show off his skills in this game. By far the the best player on the field. FIU lost some close games to good teams in the earlier part of their schedule. Rutgers to turnovers, Texas A&M to a miracle comeback, Too many missed plays to Maryland, and Pitt just beat them but they were battered and 0-3 going into the game with all those bad beats on their minds. Then they righted the ship winning a couple conference games, lost to a rival on the road, and lost last game when they already clinched the sun belt crown.

I feel like this team is a lot better than people think they are. But I could be wrong about everything. Just my view on the game.

FIU wins handily. See Troy vs. Ohio for how this game will go. MAC is garbage, FIU offense is almost as good as Troy and Toledo is much worse than Ohio defensively.

Also Toledo overachieved at 8-4, they were third in the entire country in turnover margin at +14, and their defense is really not that good, so that had more to do with luck than anything else.

It appears that no one has a real advantage here. Both teams probably should not be playing in a bowl game going in. I will continue to pass on this game, though I have to give a homefield edge to Toledo, who will have more fans than FIU.

after all that discussion, i'm on FIU. their offensive line is very good, Toledo's best attribute is their ability to force turnovers, and the MAC sucks in bowls and just got dominated by the Sun Belt in NO (by a Troy team that FIU dominated in Troy). as for home field, sure, Toledo might have more fans there, but i don't see that making a huge difference. BOL to you, Bigdaddy, the smart money may well be on no-play here.

BigDaddy, I think Toledo wins this game easily.

Stats for both teams are very similar. Both average about 27 points on offense and give up about 27 points on defense. FIU has a pretty good rushing attack using three backs but Toledo counters with the #28 ranked defense against the run. Toledo has been good at forcing turnovers (33) and that could be a factor in tonight's game. If it turns out to be a close game, FIU's kicking game is far superior to Toledo who only make 5 of 13 field goals, none from 40 yards out.

The Rockets' Eric Page is a difference maker and one to keep an eye on. He has caught 8 TDs, threw 3 TDs and returned 3 kicks for touchdowns. I look for him to have a good game today.

For those who follow trends, FIU is only 3-7 against the number last ten as an underdog.

Good luck if you choose a side.

The system that I use has Florida International in the second biggest margin of any of my system plays this year. The biggest is ARKANSAS over OSU (and this was before all the OSU cheating).

                                          Good Luck to all.

Which game? Rutgers or Texas A&M? Both they were winning in the 4Th and lost it. I know that the reason they were because of turnovers. But they were still up with a quarter to play.
