Navy 9-3 (7-4 ATS) will float into San Diego State 8-4 (6-4-1) tonight for what should be a very interesting ball game. The big question is how the field will hold up after being under water the past few days. Navy has the 5th ranked rushing attack in the country, but San Diego can counter with RB Ronnie Hillman who ran for 1300 yards and 14 touchdowns. Hillman had five game of 150 yards or more. The money question is how does the field affect the Aztecs passing game. Quarterback Ryan Lindley passed for 3554 yards and 26 touchdowns this season, and the $64,000 question seems to be will field conditions limited his ability to throw the ball? Guess we will see. San Diego State had a balanced attack all season running 398 times and passing 403 times. Whether SDS can produce a balanced attack tonight is the unknown. FIELD POSITION and TURNOVERS will probably determine who wins the game. Navy does have a weakness with the punt team ranking 111th in net punting. Could be a factor with a wet field.
Before the weather became such a big factor I was leaning toward San Diego State, now I will just pass and watch this one.
