NCAAB at least has the appeal that fans are excited about most regular season games to offset the athletic disparity. Other than if you're alum or have friends or loved ones that went to a particular college, what's the appeal? No troll, just curious.

#2Every game is important. If the Hawkeyes lose to Northern Iowa early in the season, they're fuked as far as the rankings go. Every game has a playoff game kind of importance to it.

College towns are a blast to be in on a sat. afternoon.

No NFL team to root for really. Where I live there are Bears fans, KC fans, Cheeseheads, Vikings fans. But we all go for the Hawks.

NFL is full of rich bitches who will jump ship as soon as their contract is up.Comment

#4I can see high-stakes regular season games being interesting, but what about teams whose season is "over" after losing one or two games more than they hoped? On the last part, you're implying that having money is bad. Would it be fair to call you a "bitch" if you were wealthy? Sure, there are guys who loaf and BS, but working hard for the next contract is more important in the NFL than the other major U.S. sports. Management in college football often make a lot of money too, btw, so your last point only partially applies.Originally posted by DutchEvery game is important. #7the lack of completely nonsensical and inconsistent penalties is nice. so is the lack of cult of personality ESPN features. seriously, what Michael Vick is doing is impressive, but nothing is impressive enough to talk about it every second of airtime. so far as gambling goes, my #1 criterion is trueness of effort. college football and college hoops are at the top of the list for that. NFL is decent for trueness of effort, just not as good. NBA is a joke when it comes to trueness of effort (plus, it's marketed to 8 year-olds). every week of college football is like a playoff, and you only get to see how it all fits together. it's like reading a good book or watching a season of the Wire.Comment

#8I think that is what makes college football unique.

Certainly you will get teams that are having bad seasons mailing it in, but you also have wonderful Rivalry games spread across the entire spectrum of college football.

Just one example------Texas having a horrific year on Thanksgiving night against a so-so Texas A&M team......yet it was a lot of fun to watch because both teams wanted to win so badly.Comment

#10The intensity of kids playing thier hearts out, with no money involved is unbeatable
Watch games with the knowledge that 99.9 % of all the players on the field are playing the last football, at the highest level they'll ever achieve...and most have bee playing since they were 6 & 7 years old.

Because there's so many teams and huge rosters make the disparity between "good" programs and "great" programs noticable ... hence the large pointspreads

and no, I dont believe CFB is easy money, although its much easier to cap collge football then the prosComment

#13There's plenty of money involved, ask Cam Newton about that one. Also, they're playing so they can make a paycheck on Sundays. I hate college football lolOriginally posted by MTekThe intensity of kids playing thier hearts out, with no money involved is unbeatable

#15Originally posted by jackmyhoggoffAND it's not fake fixer $HIT like PRO SPORTS !! What? In my experience, college reffing is worse, at least in football. An NFL ref never tackled a player, nor would there be such an aggression in the NFL that wouldn't get punished. Also, while I only vaguely understood what was going on, Wilbon and Kornheiser spoke of the NCAA being self-serving in lack of discipline to Cam Newton, I believe it was.Originally posted by BiffTFinancialthe lack of completely nonsensical and inconsistent penalties is nice.Comment What? #17The college game is much more emotional than the NFL. There isn't another sport in America where stadiums are packed with 100,000+ fans. If you've never attended a college game in a big time stadium, you will not understand the appealComment
