How dumb is Pitt?

Granted Wannstedt is not going to be confused with Vince Lombardi, but Pitt firing him to hire Mike Haywood of Miami, OH is pretty friggin stupid.

Haywood has exactly 2 years of experience. They must have bungled the guy they really wanted.

Is that move official? I read he is in pittsburg but no definite yes , yet. I agree it seems like a downgrade from mr mustache

This will probably bring a few laughs from some of you but I thought that Pitt would be a good fit for Phil Fulmer if he was ever to come back into coaching. Pitt is a program with history, the ability to accumulate quality talent and theyre in a conference where there are no clear cut leaders so a BCS bid is not far out of reach each year. His last few years at UT were disappointing but I've always had a soft spot for that fat guy, plus it would make Johnny Majors drink even heavier seeing the Great Pumpkin roaming the sidelines at Pitt. They probably never even considered him a candidate but its just a thought.

Fulmer is a good coach, I am still surprised someone hasn't hired him.
