Utah Not Kicking and Screaming this Year
    One man's opinion...................

First, I have nothing against Utah other than they beat my Alabama team like a drum in the Sugar bowl a couple years back. Utah is a fine state and has a fine university with a good football program. One thing I am missing this time of year is a lawmaker from Utah kicking and screaming about the need for an NCAA football playoff and how flawed the BCS system is. I guess late season losses to TCU and Notre Dame and close wins over football powers San Diego State and Brigham Young have the Utes fans and those lawmakers choosing their words a little more carefully this year. Utah finished the regular season a respectable 10-2, but maybe it still isn't getting love from the sports people across the nation. Utah finished the regular season ranked 20th in the AP poll.
Four teams, Alabama, Nebraska, Texas A&M and South Carolina had worse records but are ranked higher. And, how about the Utes' argument the BCS system is broken? Heck, Utah finished the regular season ranked 19th in the BCS. Maybe it should be glad it is broken.

    Welcome your comments.

The system is what it is. Unless another system is presented that would mean greatly increased revenue, the attention only helps college football

Utah is going to become a member of the Pac 12 next season, so there is no need for Congress to get all upset about anything. TCU finished 3rd in the polls, and would have finished 3rd no matter what conference they were in. This year was a rather simple one for the BCS, with the exception of having a crap team like UConn in a BCS game. I would like to see a stipulation that says that a team must win at least 9 games to be considered bor a BCS Bowl. If the winner of an AQ Conference has less than 9 wins, then that conferences automatic invite becomes an at-large invite.

I agree with your 9 win BCS view.

If I had my way, a bowl team would have to have 7 wins to qualify. Earn the damn thing rather than put 6-6 teams in.
