Chris Petersen is also being mentioned in some circles. Wittingham will not be the choice. Flrodia can get Mullen away from Miss. State easily enough. It will not matter. Florida does not have the players for next season towin the SEC.

I'm not saying Petrino isn't going to be the guy, but on Rivals Radio today---they discussed how air tight his contract is. It would take a crazy buyout, upwards of 7.2 million-------for Petrino to move to another SEC school.

It is dramatically lower for a non-SEC school.

BigDaddy, I have not heard Peterson's name mentioned. He may very well be a person of interest for the Gators. I do think Haskins being a flop at Colorado has given some concern about Boise State coaches. Good to hear from you Bud.

Martin, you may very well have something with Petrino's contract. I know the Razorbacks do not want to lose him and would put up a fight to keep him.

I for one think Mullen would be successful at Florida. He knows the program and is a good, tough coach. What he has done at Mississippi State is amazing.

What he has done at Miss. State is not what everyone is pumping it up to be. His record against SEC West teams was 1-4. The only team he beat that had a record over .500 was, oddly enough, Florida (7-5). His only SEC West win came against Mississippi (4-8). Sure 8-4 is a good record, but let's not blow it out of porportion.

I agree with the dangers of hiring Petersen, but Florida is in much better shape than Colorado was when Hawkins moved over there. Still, Petersen is a long shot.

ESPN radio host Colin Cowherd today let his national audience know that his “big time” has told him that the Florida Gators called a big name college head coach today that isn’t on most people’s lists. His hint was the acronym S.T.A.B.

I don;t see Mullen leaving Starkville. Is UF a step up...absolutely...but I think he's staying at Miss St. I could see Boise or Oklahoma losing a coach to Gainesville.

Florida wouldn't hire Harbaugh because of Michigan. You know that's his first choice.

Looks like Dan Mullen is staying at Mississippi State. He's about to sign a new contract extension and says that's where he wants to be.
