Huskers crushed UW earlier this year and I haven't seen any consistency from UW this entire season. Plus this is their first bowl game in 8-9 years. Their goal this season was to make it to a bowl game. They accomplished that, so now it's time for the let down.

BTW, this is coming from a Huskies fan.

Washington absolutely sucks this year - I've followed them pretty closely. But the only thing I'd say is how "up" for this game will Nebraska be?

Let's face it, they thought they'd be BCS-bound this year and now they are in the Holiday Bowl...for a second straight year. How often does a bowl pick the same team two years in a row?

All of the matchup stats, arrows, advantages will favor Nebraska - there is no question. I'm just going to wait closer until game time to see if I like this pick because they might check out mentally for this one.

That's a good point. I'll sit on this one and see if there is any line movement. But I still sort of think that a "down" Nebraska team could walk all over the Huskies. We'll see though...

Washington is awful but they do have some momentum to finish the season and Nebraska is opposite right now. Also, Jake Locker went from being the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft to the next Matt Jones after his effort against Nebraska, and now he gets another shot.

I agree, it probably doesn't matter, but I'm just looking at both sides of the coin.

I've seen Washington play a handful of games and they are NOT GOOD. I take the Huskers all the way up to -20

I'm a Washington St. fan and watched the UW-WSU game; the Huskies were all out to beat a terrible WSU team and three of their five TD's came on simple off-tackle running plays that any decent defense could defend. The bowl game will mirror the previous regular season matchup this year; lay the 13 and watch the Huskers roll.

I'm not arguing the Huskies are good by any stretch of the imagination. However, you really can't use the Apple Cup as your example. That game is always a competitive matchup no matter how good/bad either team is. There is so much pride on the line, especially when it's in Pullman. Plus WAZZU beat OSU at home this year. Yes, the Beavers aren't as good as they have been lately but still.

Nebraska is not the same team that went to Washington earlier in the season. This, most likely, will be the last game for Martinez as a Husker. Nebraska is not going to be real excited for getting screwed once again. It's been an ugly season for Nebraska and this is the cherry on top.

With that being said....... one thing you can count on is the DEFENSE for Nebraska being ready for this game. Washington will try to mix things up and protect Locker better this time. Nebraska has the best secondary in the nation. I wonder if Nebraska can limit Locker to 4 for 20 passing again

I dont see Nebraska scoring 56 points again this time. But I would also be surprised to see Washington score 21 again.

I'd say Nebraska rolls again (they now have to play these guys 3 times within a year!)

                Nebraska 31
                Washington 10

I'd say Nebraska rolls even if they show up not wanting to play.
