I'm a little confused about this. He just got a 4 year extension this year and Miami has the worst fan support of any major football program. How can Miami afford to write a huge check (8-10 mil?) for him to just go away when they play in a half full stadium every week?

Shannon's a class act; he cleaned up the program and has the graduation rate moving up. But that's not what the folks down here want--stadium was about 1/3 full yesterday. I suspect we'll see the thugs/criminals back at the U in no time.

This is certainly not surprising. Shannon was a very poor coach. His on field decision making was terrible. He never had a year where Miami lost less than 4 games. This year three home losses finished him. You do not lose at hoe to Florida State and South Florida and expect to keep your job. Jacory Harris is as dumb as Shannon was. Those two deserved each other. If Harris is as bad aws you guy make him out to be, then Shannon gets the blame for not benching him to begin with.

Shannon is probably an ok guy but he was way over his head when he was hired and never grew into the job. He was terrible at hiring good assistant coaches and that ultimately was his downfall. How many offensive coordinators did he have during his time at Miami?

A head coach is only as good as his assistant coaches.

Shannon is a good guy but he is not the man who was going to turn the program back into a winner. They pretty much went down in flames as soon as Harris got hurt against UVA.

Won't happen with the dumbass president at Miami but can you imagine with all the talent in South Florida what kind of offense this guy would throw at the ACC. He's living down the road in Key West so not like he can't be found.

I always thought it was stupid of Miami to give Shannon an extension last year. I mean last year they did not win the ACC or win a bowl game... they didn't accomplish anything meaningful, yet they still tossed millions his way. Miami is run by a bunch of idiots.
