I'm sure there are blogs out there, there are books to read, etc. It's a losing streak, period. This will happen if you hang around long enough. You could very easily win your next 6 and you're right back where you started. My tip is to remember how it feels to LOSE, because it will happen. Don't chase your money. BOL

if u are takin RLs or Totals then every pick has a 50% chance of winning. So the chances of you going 0-5 are just as much as you going 5-0 I lost 7 straight once, then went 13-5 the next week

It happens. The last 2 weeks have been extremely easy in my opinion. So I wonder who you have been betting on. Bet on the teams that you know. Stick with the facts....... dont try to add some make believe element to the mix. If a QB is hurt bet the other side (ex Bears and Akron). Ask yourself why the line is the way it is. Is a team coming off a huge win/loss? Who do they play next week? How has a team been playing on the road (ex Oklahoma is great at home and terrible on the road).
I could go on and on. I was 10-2 last week and 3-0 this week so far. I'll post my picks for Saturday. If you dont have the time to handicap the games yourself then follow someone that's on a hot streak.
I think this site is a good tool to help eachother beat the bookie. Unfortunately some people dont understand that.
Good luck!

I recently lost 12 of 15 but then went 12-1. Then went 0-5 and have now won 2 in a row. Lots has to do with luck.
Personally, I think you need to really watch games and then just brush yourself up on the details of a game you are going to bet on. Then go with whatever your gut tells you. I stay away from trends. I think they are the dumbest thing in the world. Bodog and betting sites put them on there for a reason remember.
I know for the NCAA tournament this is what I do. I watch basketball every night from now (or maybe after college football) until the start of the NCAA tourny. At that point, I have a feeling for what teams are. I DO NOT listen to those idiots on ESPN who analyze like Digger Phelps or whatever his name is who matches his highliter to his tie. Thats bracket suicide if you listen to those guys. I pick my bracket based on what I have up in my head from the games I've watched all season.
Its working and I've been dominating bracket pools since I was a freshman in high school (2000). I've placed in the money (top 3ish) like 9 out of those 10 years.

Follow someone for a while w/ a good track record. I suggest Harry N Lloyd, he's 52-33 on the season. Read his column, follow his plays and you'll be back on the plus side in no time. Also read GivemeaBJ's thread, he knows what he's doing and if you see a pick from Rudy jump all over it he's been lights out this year. GL

0-11 is my longest streak, all in one day.
But then again I went 14-0 in one NFL Week.

So here is how my mind thinks Fresno had huge week last week vs Nevada which they covered my 9 and won. But now they are on the smurf turf playing against Boise who impressed me with the win over Hawii. A team in which beat Fresno pretty good. Boise still looking to impress on a Friday night highlight film. In theory they roll by 5-6 Touchdowns

I'm still working on this game so I'll let you know what I end up taking later. My first look tells me to take Boise State -17.5 in the 1st half. It's been said that TCU's close game vs San Diego State has cost them a shot at the Championship. Boise State and TCU can not afford close games with their schedules and Boise State knows this. I'm always worried about a backdoor cover in the high point spread games. (Those of us that had Boise -35.5 with Idaho on the 20 last week knows what I'm talking about!) So my first thought is to take Boise State -17.5 in the first half..... expecting them to be up by 21+ at half time and cruising to a victory.

5 losses in a row isn't that big of a streak brave, especially for a noob and if you are playing a lot of games
I will try to round up some links to articles or something for you that i have bookmarked
My advice is to bet small while you learn.

Instead of clicking "place bet" on your next 5 bets. Write them down on a piece of paper instead of actually betting them. See what you would have loss/won, this will give you a mental break.

Always keep your bets within your limits. Never bet more than a small % of what you can stand to lose. Also,, the biggest thing, I think, is to look at gambling as a season long thing. Looking at it week by week can be he'll on your psyche, easy to get you in a mental rut and even easier to start "chasing". For instance, this week I was 2-10, I lost 14 units total. BUT, over the season right now, I am UP about 19 units ( not trying to brag, just giving an example) which is pretty good. Your most important attribute in any sort of gambling is mental discipline.

Dont Worry about it. Law of averages. Your bound to get at least 4 of the next 6 right. 4 of 11 is not great, but still it takes a massive amount of bad luck to continue a bad streak
