It’s Week 11 of College Football and The Cornhuskers are 8-1 but Taylor Martinez’s ankle injury kept him out of last week’s game and without him the Cornhuskers barely edged Iowa State Cyclones.
However it is not uncommon for championship caliber teams have an annual close call. So now that Nebraska has had theirs and with optimism about a Taylor Martinez return, it should be plain sailing from here.

Martinez practiced fully on Monday and the coaches have announced that he is going to start Week 11 against The Kansas Jayhawks. However the question is is he really needed? A better strategy might be to start Cody Green again and let Martinez fully recuperate for the Texas A&M game.
The Jayhawks will roll into town on Saturday as humongous underdogs, but the spread seems justified after they gave up 42 to Colorado last week. Expect their one dimensional offense to duplicate some of the plays that Texas and Iowa State had success with and exploit Nebraska’s weaknesses.

This should be an easy contest for Nebraska but before you lay your money on the spread, keep an ear close to the ground as it’ll be worth your while to find out if Martinez is actually going to play or not. He is the explosive offensive threat that makes Nebraska one of the best teams in the country.
