    Back to basics: first-blush leans
I've been ice-cold lately -- mostly because I haven't been going with my gut (especially early). So here are my initial leans without looking into the plays a whole lot:

Connecticut +6.5 (good old weekday home underdog against an erratic Pitt team)
Iowa -12 (if Robinson plays; line is bizarre -- it's almost like Vegas is telling us the Hawks are the pick)
Purdue +13 (might play the ML as well; Boilermakers have struggled lately, but Michigan does not deserve to be a DD fave on the road vs. anyone)
Wisconsin -21.5 (too much for a crappy IU squad that had their hearts broken vs. Iowa)
Oklahoma -16.5 (Tech flying high after rallying past Mizzou at home; Sooners will play angry and win this one by 20 plus)
Baylor +3 (ML as well -- likely my biggest play of the week, given A&M's huge win over OU last Saturday)
Iowa State -2.5 (they know they need this one to become bowl eligible, and Colorado is demoralized after that choke job at KU)
Cal +20 (Bears are good at home; I think they can score enough with Oregon to stay within about 14)
North Carolina +5.5 (ranks right behind the Baylor play)
UNLV +7 (Saturday night at home, and Wyoming just lost to New fvcking Mexico)

Thoughts would be appreciated. Again, these are very raw, underanalyzed picks.

I did notice after making these picks that a few other games have shown some significant early line movement:

    UAB vs. East Carolina
    Florida vs. South Carolina
    Tennessee vs. Mississippi
    Fresno State vs. Nevada
    Boise State at Idaho
    Central Michigan at Navy
    Tulsa at Houston
Middle Tennessee State vs. North Texas
    Rice at Tulane
    NC State vs. Wake Forest

All have moved at least 1.5 points from their opening number.

I saw Utah(-5) against Norte Dame. The love affair is over with Utah after their pounding at the hands of TCU...but they have to be more than a 5pt fav against a spotty ND team...

Did I miss a memo somewhere?

Im with you I cant see how Utah doesnt come out and smack ND all over the field, unless they lost their heart along with their national championship aspirations last Saturday

If ND can't beat Tusla, they can't beat Utah

Utah should win and cover in theory, but I'm a little leery taking them off a total beatdown on their home field in their biggest game of the year.
