The College Football Opening Lines with Bodog
Dave G., who is 6-0 over the past 2 weeks, gives his analysis some of the games and Adam Burns, the Bodog.ca Sportsbook Manager, gave us the scoop on the where the action is coming in at the books.

    This week we discussed:
    • Missouri @ Nebraska
    • California @ Oregon State
    • Tennessee U @ South Carolina
    • Oregon @ USC
    • Michigan State @ Iowa
    • And the popular public and one sided bets so far this week

The standard "bodog" lean is to shave half point on the public side (usually favorite side). Bodog has Iowa -7, fitting the bodog lean pattern. So I don't see why he says sharp money is on Iowa here.

Bodog doesn't adjust their advertised numbers for sharp money. They adjust those numbers so they can jack up the price on square money and then put sharps on a different line set.

                  Yes precisely.

But it doesn't follow that sharps are on Iowa. Since they are shading the Iowa side by charging an extra half point, doesn't that make it the square side where they are enjoying >4.5% standard vig?

Tomato I posted this comment based on something I read from you a long time ago where you called it the "bodog lean".

Now I'm curious too; that must be the Becky that Plies always refers too - haha.

For what it's worth, I was looking at Iowa as well. Michigan State back-to-back road games, they've been scraping by the last couple of weeks and Iowa won't give up many yards on the ground. Also, this is Iowa's season. If they win, they are back in it but if they lose, they can forget about any decent bowl.
