USC is ranked 90th in total defense not sure if they have turned it around yet. Cal has been known to be very inconsistent so the 48-14 win isnt much of a selling point for me. Monte struggled last year with spread offenses at Tennessee (see last years Auburn and Ole Miss games) and this Oregon offense is clicking right now. Expect a track meet.

whatever the spread is i will take the ducks and anyone that wants to put points on it...i am game.

usc has looked good the past few games, but i dont know why everyone still hates on the ducks offense and their defense. wasnt ucla the first team to even score a touch in the 4th quarter on them this season. Not that it matters becasue they are usually blowing out the teams in the 4th, but my point being their d isnt bad either.

USC's offense will be able to score on oregon's defense. oregon showed its vulnerability in the run game to UCLA. however, since UCLA is not a balanced offense, oregon was able to hold UCLA eventually. USC's offense is much more balanced and potent. USC's defense will struggle. i think this game will mirror the stanford/USC game where it was a shootout. however, oregon's offense seems just too strong and i doubt USC's defense will have made THAT much of an improvement even though they have a bye this week. i'm predicting oregon wins by 10

After last week's game against Cal, defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin said he had simplified the playbook on defense, because his players just weren't getting the complicated NFL defensive schemes. He said he wanted the defense to not have to think out there and just use their athletic ability to play! I know it was one game, but Monte is too good of a coach to not improve this defense.

We will see if that translates again this week against Oregon's dynamic offense.
