My boilers are a little schitzo right now. Lose to Toledo at home, beat previously unbeaten Northwestern on the road. Lost our best QB, RB, and WR. Minnesota isn't very good and this is our homecoming. I'm leaning toward Minne +5.5 or taking it on a teaser with a few additional points. I think Purdue will win SU, but maybe by a field goal.

    Hope that helps.

I like Purdue a lot in this one. The line is pretty heavily adjusted because Purdue are onto their back-up QB. But he is primarily a running QB, and rushing defense is a huge weakness for Minnesota. So this is a good match-up for him. And on the other side, Minnesota wont be able to nothing on the ground in this game, Minnesota's running game is poor against a very good rushing defense of Purdue. Purdue's secondary isn't great against a good Minnesota QB but the fact that Minnesota wont be able to do much on the ground in this game combined with a Purdue D-line that is one of the best in the country at getting sacks and pressure on the QB should neutralize Minnesota's passing game a bit.

I originally was all over this until I saw the injuries for Purdue. Minnesota defense giving up 5.7 YPC, Purdue getting 5.0 YPC. I think they will definitely be running the ball, and I think I'll stick with Purdue to cover, but might make a smaller wager.

Minnesota hung with Wisconsin a little while last week, like Purdue, but only a small play

This game is impossible to pick, both teams are so eerily similar. Play well one week against a good team, and play like garbage against garbage teams. I wouldn't touch this game betting wise, but I think Purdue can cover.

I wouldn't say it was a HUGE upset. Northwestern hadn't really beaten anyone and a poor minnesota team almost beat them. It was an upset, but nothing like beating OSU last year. Or ND beating USC...that's a huge upset.
