I would be very careful with Virginia Tech... their defense can handle a mobile QB...ever since the second half of the ECU game this has looked like the special team people expected.

I'm on N.C. State as well. Russell Wilson can most definitely run, and this season is throwing like Peyton Manning. He's taken his passing efficiency to another level. Va. Tech will struggle to stop the Wolfpack. BOL ATS!

Wow, what a game last night...talk about an emotional roller coaster. Neither team deserved to win that game so it's only fitting the majority of people ended up with a push. If you were fortunate enough to have OK St -2.5 or the Aggies at +3.5, congrats.

As I mentioned in my previous post I have been eyeing one more game and have now added Hawaii -8.5 to my picks.

No harm no foul this week. With the exception of the TCU/Col. St game, it looked like the other games were going to cash right down to the final minutes. So, what could have been a really nice week, turned into a push.

had troy last for easy money before i saw your thread. really enjoying this thread and enjoying your insight. havnt made up my mind about tonites bet yet but am leaning more and more toward uab. they play swarming defense and like their chances of having enough success with their two quarterback system to keep this one within the number. any leans on your end concerning a side?

sorry for the late post...UCF defense is really good...I'd lean towards UCF but I think the under is the way to go.

Wow, what a crazy Saturday...in the end the record shows 3-3 but after dropping the first 3 of the day I was really starting to doubt myself. Fla.St. got it started and the UTEP and Hawaii games were easy winners. As the week went on and I did more and more research, I liked these picks that much more. The first game to start was the Ball St game...5 minutes into it, they are down 14-0 and 21-0 before the end of the 1st quarter. Next up was San Diego St...same thing, down 14-0 in the 1st quarter. At this point I'm really starting to doubt myself. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I don't expect people to tail my picks, YET. I post my picks on this forum because it keeps me focused...if my picks are out there for all to see, the last thing I want to do is embarrass myself...an 0-6 week would certainly do just that. The fear of being embarrassed makes me do more and more research so in the end it will benefit all of us. Not to worry though....as the Utah St. game was coming to an end, Fla. St was manhandling Miami and the rest of the evening went just like I thought the early games were going to go with UTEP and Hawaii winning easily.

So, one lesson can be taken from this...patience. As the early losses started to mount, some people may have felt the need to start chasing games...double down on the 2nd halves or stuff like that...in the past I would have done it. I had to keep reminding myself that it's called gambling for a reason. These are 19 and 20 year old kids, so it's very unpredictable. You have to trust the research you've done all week and just stick to your guns. In the end, I didn't show a profit for the day, but if I had panicked and started chasing other games, I could have very easily ended up losing. When you make your picks for the week, stick to your guns...you picked and or avoided games for a reason...don't panic...stick to your guns and in the end you hope everything you've done throughout the week pays off.

As some of you know, I also have an NFL thread so if you are tailing me, my picks will be posted soon.

I love these picks this week. Normally I do hours of research everyday before finally deciding what games I want to play each week. Based on my record you may be thinking I should be doing MORE research...good point. Anyway, as I printed off the lines Monday night several games caught my attention. As I looked more and more at other games, I felt better and better about those first 4 or 5 games that to me stuck out. I continued to do my due diligence on the other games, but in the end I felt so good about these games, I decided to go with my initial instinct and just go with these 5 games. Possibly the reason for my 7-5-2 record so far this season is that I'm trying to be too precise with my picks. Don't get me wrong, I still did more research this week than the average person but instead of going over each matchup 5 or 6 times, I decided I felt confident enough in my original picks that I had to bet them.

Okay, I'll shut up and post my picks. G/L everyone.

Hmmm...I just cannot seem to get out of this mediocrity funk I'm in. I really liked these picks yesterday, yet I only cash in on 2 of them. Well, the only thing I can do is stick to what has been successful in past years and hope that 5-0 weekend will happen soon. Very dissapointed with NC St - I thought they would win that game easily and set the tone for the day, instead they get down 21-0 in the 1st quarter and end up losing in OT. UTEP pissed me off too...UAB is flat out awful, yet they completely shut UTEP down. Oh well, enough crying, I have 1 BIG play in my NFL thread, so lets hope that will make up for a below average Saturday.

Time to break out of this funk...I need a 5-0 or 4-1 week in the worst way. I really thought last week was the week...I felt as good as I ever have about my picks only to go 2-3 for the day. Well, I'm feeling good this week too, so let's just hope this is the week.

Once again another frustrating day. I'm very upset with myself. All week the line on Texas Tech was (-2.5), at least at my book. Instead of locking that bet in right away I waited until Friday when I had completed my research for the week. It was not until I clicked on TT to place the bet that I noticed the line moved a 1/2 point. I thought about it for a little bit, but had a feeling TT was going to win easily and the 1/2 point wouldn't really matter...we all know how that worked out don't we? So I end up 1-3-1 on the day, however, I used a free play on the Notre Dame game...so even though it goes as a loss on my record, my bank roll really didn't suffer much. Once again Hawaii cashes in...I have bet them 4 times this year and won each time...easily too...can't wait to see who they play next week.
