I like State here. Their passing game and over sized wide outs I think will keep them in it barring the ole dreaded perfect storm. Getting 4.5 is pretty generous.

Va Tech lost to James Madison. They are playing at NC State. NC State kicked the drap out of Ga Tech. It seems line makers are clinging to preseason ratings.

Virginia Tech is easily the best team in the ACC, I doubt NC State matches their YTD offensive stats against the Hokies' defense. I'm not saying I am betting the game, but if I do, Va Tech is the only playable side.

You can disregard the James Madison game, it came less than a week after Hokies has national title hopes dashed by Boise. Va Tech could go undefeated in ACC.

If we are using that logic....Kansas also beat Georgia Tech, and they lost to a 1-AA program as well.

Clack...you misunderstood my post.

What I was saying is----you seemed to be giving NC State credit for beating GT-----and I just pointed out that even a shitty Kansas team beat GT.

NC St is a live dog and probably should be favored. Ga Tech has played poorly in spots but they are not a bad team and NC St pretty much clowned them. I think you either take the 4.5 or pass.

That is a good point about VTs offense. They have struggled to score..

However----I keep going back to how close they were to beating Boise. And if Boise were laying 4 against NC State---I would be all over Boise, so why am I so hesitant to pull this string?

I think VT is the play here----but hell, I am wrong a lot.

State's pass d is still suspect. I will pass. I have been a state homer for a while and a former player. For some reason when everyone is starting to believe in us we usually shit the bed. I'm glad that we are doing good. But this is VT and people are talking like we already won the game. VT is a no nonsense team. No deception and not real flashy. Simple on offense and hard on defense. State has not played a hard nosed team like this yet. I don't know how they will react. We did struggle against a UCF defense and they almost lost it at the end. GT's defense is garbage and Cinn couldn't pick up the blitz. And State's kicking game has struggled and I think VT will find a way to exploit that. Field goal kicking and punting. I hope we win but to feel so confident in the pick is playing with fire.
