Someone please convince me why I shouldnt love Stanford here with getting anything over 7. Stanford proved they are absolutely for real with their dominating win at ND, a place that has haunted them in the past (1-8 in last 9). They are handling business everywhere they go. Conversely, Oregon is solid, but proved to be a little overrated. They are somewhat one dimensional and not great defensively. No cover and 7 turnovers against ASU shows a chink in the armor. I know Autzen is a very tough place to play, but I firmly believe Harbaugh, Luck, and Co. will be ready. May not win, but will certaily be close. Speed kills, but discipline and intelligence can override, and Stanford is certainly those. I cant believe the line is heading so far the opposite direction of the public. Any thoughts?

#3I know what you're saying about both teams here. Another factor to consider for the line. It's not just that they're playing at Autzen. It's a REVENGE game at Autzen. Stanford knocked off Oregon last year when they were #7 in the country. Hung 51 points on them with Gerhardt running wild. Set a Stanford school record with 232 yards.
Oregon was confusing at A State, if you watched that game. Toward the end of the first half they showed they could score quickly and almost at will. In the second half they seemed to slow down. Kept running predictable plays, just handing the ball off to James. Didn't seem to be much of a passing game at all. Might have been the near 100 degree heat. To hot to keep an up tempo game going. Just get out of there with the win. May not wanted to show all they had unless necessary (which was the case at the end of the 2nd half) to keep the rest of their playbook from Stanford.
Couple other things to consider... That was an exhausting game for Oregon. Starters in it till the end. First time they'd played that long all season. Whereas Stanford starters got some rest against ND.
Should be a great game.Comment -

#4I like Stanford at +7. We will see how real their defense really is, but they have been very solid. I also think that Luck is the best qb in college ball right now, and that is always something good. Even if Oregon is winning, at +7 a backdoor is always a possibility. I think it definitely makes more sense than taking Oregon -7Comment -

#6I like +7 against almost anybody, with Harbaugh coaching this Stanford team. Harbaugh is really impressing me. Like you said, Harv, Oregon is a little bit one-dimensional, and they make mistakes. I think Harbaugh is going to exploit both of these factors. The line movement does concern me -- looks like the books are happy to have the public hitting Stanford. But I'm leaning toward a play on Stanford.Comment -

#9Yeah, I might have to bite. I have Oregon as essentially a 4/5-pt. favorite at home, but I'm probably going the moneyline route with the Cardinal again. Taking them outright at home last season was a fvcking boon to my bankroll for Bowl Season, but I'm going to need to look into this a bit more.Comment -

#10Oregon is real tough at home. I wouldn't be surprised if OU blows them out by at least 2 TD's. On the other hand I wouldn't be surprised if Stanford covered, so I plan on hitting the over if it is in the 49 range.

#11I think the over is the play here. Oregon will really test that Stanford secondary. Both of these teams can score. Can see it hitting the 60s.Comment -

#12like Stanford here.. Oregon really hasn't played anyone, first test last week and they win by 11. Not bad for a road game at ASU but not the blow outs we were seeing in the first 3 vs cupcake central (yes Tenn included). Stanford comes in tested early on (ucla rout looking a lot better now) and I think Luck will be ready for Autzen. Will look into more throughout the week but leaning Stanford.Comment -

#35I really like Oregon in this spot. It seems like everyones initial lean is to take the Over (it was mine), but now im thinking Under. Bookmakers are smart. They knew most people were/are going to hammer the Over. But back to my Oregon lean, I just think Autzen stadium will be rocking. Oregon also has revenge on their mind after losing at Stanford last season.Comment
