Coaches On The HOTSEAT

Before the season started, there were several coaches considered to be on the Hotseat with their fans and administration. Listed below (no certain order) are a list of those coaches and how they have fared this season. Some like Mark Richt of Georgia are feeling the heat. I,m sure there are others........................

Who would you put at the top of the list right now? Georgia's Mark Richt is getting hammered right now starting 0-3 in the SEC. I,m sure there are others not mentioned....who would you add?

Bill Stewart.

Not saying they should of beat LSU. But it was a big chance for him to make his mark. They certainly had their chances.

He has to roll through the Big East and go to the BCS. I dont think the leash is very long with our new AD. As crappy as the Big East is, the pressure is on him to win the league.

To this date his biggest win is the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma with Rodriquez's players and Offensive Coordinator.

I'm not sure Stewart was ever a popular hire with the West Virginia faithful. He certainly doesn't have the full support of the fan base there in Morgantown.

Pretty solid list, but the only one I would question is Butch Jones.

He is only 4 games into his first year, and he lost some great players like Mardy Gilyard.

Richt is absolutely gone, unless somehow Georgia wins 7 of 8, which looks impossible based on their pathetic offensive play. The brass made him fire his DC last year. so he's already lost control of the program.

I think Richt survives at least one more season. He will need to have a very good season in 2011 to keep his job, though.

Richt is not on the hot seat, new ad, missing his best player, if they fire him they have to give him 3 mil. It is more likely they let his contract run out and not renew.

I believe you are correct. Wouldn't be surprised if Richt took over play calling duty before the year is over though and then fires Bobo or at least demotes him back to QB coach. I think UGA is just delaying the inevitable though. I had to endure the Fulmer decline at UT and half the fanbase would have gave him another decade to try and turn it around but when a coach loses it then it is gone forever at a school and Richt has lost it at UGA.

He created an entire staff in his mold much like Fulmer did. Grantham is obviously outside of Richt's comfort zone. Searles has made their OL soft as can be much like Jimmy Ray Stephens did at UT. Richt wasting his most talented team in 2008 marked the end much like Fulmer in the 2001 SEC championship game. Fulmer lost at home to Vandy for the 1st time in 20+ years enroute to a 5 win season in 2005. Richt lost to UK at home last year for the 1st time in 30+ years for UGA. Neither develops their talent particulaly well and recruiting while still good clearly slid for Fulmer and is sliding for Richt. I don't think he ever wins anything again at UGA but for UT's sake I hope they keep him around for years or bring back Ray Goff!

Good post jarvol. I never understood the Grantham hire. He's just not a good fit for Georgia in my opinion.
