Two home underdogs being hated on by the public for the Thursday and Friday night games.

1-1 at worst. I like Pitt a little more than SMU, but I could see them both cashing.

Also, BYU +5.5 at home against Nevada? What?!?!?!

Yep. Well over 4k bets in on the Miami/Pitt game, with nearly 80% of the public on Miami. The line goes from Miami -3.5 to Miami -3.0. You nailed it

This has the Cal/Nevada game feeling all over again.

I'm just trying to figure out the books strategy on putting Miami at -3.5

I watched the Iron Skillet Bowl, or what have you, last season, and I think this game could easily soar over the total of '52'. If not for two 'Frog fumbles, they could have dropped 49 on the them. Additionally, I can see SMU coming up with a meaningful, early score, and one in garbage time.

      It's worth a look.

Other home dogs the public doesn't like but I do:

        Arizona State +10.5 vs. Oregon
        Cincinnati +15.5 vs. Oklahoma
        Rice +7.5 vs. Baylor
        Arkansas +7.5 vs. Alabama
        Wyoming +12.5 vs. Air Force

I'm going against you on Air Force. They have a damn good defense, and Wyoming is HORRIBLE against the run. If there were a big game Wyoming would show up for, it was the Boise State one. I like Air Force at -13.5 here.

Oregon and Alabama - I'm just not betting against at this point Personal preference there.

Wyoming is notorious for covering big numbers at home, but they don't look very good so far this year. I don't blame you for passing on Oregon and Alabama, given how they've played.

Again, these are just leans -- not yet plays.

I'm actually watching the Florida State line. If I can get it at -16.5, I will. Wake has ZERO defense and the Noles have actually defended the run rather well.

Back to your original point - why do you think the books have Miami so low as a favorite? Trap game or legit line

I haven't been impressed with Oklahoma.

Yes, I've watched Cincy play. The suck donkey balls. Doesn't mean they can't cover in this spot, though.
