This will be Nebraska's first test and it's on the road in Washington. Nebraska has had 6 turnovers in 2 games against W. KY and Idaho. Washington has a decent Run Defense and Nebraska's pass defense could have a rough time with Locker under center.

Washington struggled against BYU and Syracuse. Nebraska should win the Big XII this year. I don't like it as much as Iowa -2 @ Arizona or Cal -2 @ Nevada, but its a decent play.

Oddsmakers are brilliant for a reason. Washington plays well at home, 7-1 in their last 8. Just like they got up to beat USC last year, expect them to get up for this one as well. Huskers D is not as dominant as last year after losing Sue, although still good. And Lee is not a top 10 QB and is being overrated. That said I dont see Wash D being able to stop the Huskers ground game, but this one should be close. Probably right on the number...a 3 to 4 pt Husker win.

Nebraska wins this game big. I don't see any way Washington competes physically with Nebraska.

I think Washington wins this one outright. Martinez has looked good against W Kentucky and Idaho, but who wouldn't? This is his first road test in one of the harshest road environments which will likely mean turnovers. Plus I think this Nebraska team is supremely overrated. They're a top 25 team, not top 10. Their offense will still be abysmal and the defense gave up 179 yards to a team that has now lost 21 games in a row. In my opinion losing Suh and Dillard has really hurt their defense (which is expected) but the reason the d line was so good last year was because Suh was drawing double and triple teams. Anybody could have been out there with him and he'd make them look better than they really are. Washington wins 20-17

WVU? From the Big East? I don't remember anyone saying that. The point I'm trying to make is we can talk all day about sucker bets, sportbooks baiting people to take the road fav, but when they line up on Saturday, Nebraska is going to punch them in the mouth and I dont think they will respond well.

That is a very hard point to argue with. But that is ONLY if Nebraska shows up with emotion and intensity....something Ive noticed doesnt happen too much to these college kids without the home crowd fueling their adrenaline. Only the great teams come to play every wk...but Pelini will prob make sure they are ready.

Good point. Its still too early in the season for me to price in lack of focus although it seems it has already happened to Ga tech and Va tech to name a couple.

Nebraska has had 6 turnovers in their first two games. Washington has had 1. This will play a role and the oddsmakers know it.

Nebraska has yet to be tested and when Nebraska gives up 17 points to Idaho there is a big concern because the team focuses on defense. It will be interesting to see how the young qb can handle the pressure.

7 of those 17 points were very late in the game against the backups (causing Idaho to cover). I don't consider that a real concern.

This seems to be the buy of the week, TO's are always a difficult variable to account for - that said when the team only travels with (60?) players, top two [<1.5 full] units maybe, the forces are sort of concentrated, it could well be a blowout - either way, the 3.5 is just to get an equal amount of $$ on both sides. I too am interested where this line ends up.

I think its low aswell but It is the Largest crowd at husky stadium in over ten years. Out of the 75,000 tickets, 10,000. went to nebraska fans. Place will be rocking. Freshman qb could struggle. Little tid bits for ya

This game will be like Oregon UW last year. Too much firepower from the Huskers. Martinez is a mobile QB and UW lacks pursuit speed.

I think we have some very uninformed folks above so I will try to give some insight from a guy that bleeds Nebraska red and never ever bets on them...nor will I ever bet on them...

Taylor Martinez is the starter not Zac Lee...Martinez is a red shirt frosh who has not even remotely looked like a frosh.... He throws the ball very well considering he is mainly a running threat... He looks born to run the spread option and nobody has stopped Nebraska yet (Martinez is averaging 13.5 yards per carry right now!!)... The talk about the turnovers is a bit silly considering 3 of them have come from back-ups who will not see the field on Saturday and the fact that Nebraskas no1 units are currently +3 in margin right now... Martinez has thrown 1 pick while the Nebraska D forced Idaho's Nathan Enderle (a potential NFL prospect) to throw 5 INTs... (2 of which were returned for TDs)

Also anyone looking at the yardage will likely get the real story.. they are almost 2-1 ratio and that is with them shuffling in 3 different Qbs and all the backups in for most of the 2nd half in both games they have played...

Regarding Idaho as a weak team...this is the same Idaho (who won a bowl game last year) team that beat North Dakota 45-0... the same North Dakota team that nearly took out D1 Northern Illinois (whom is only an 8pt dog @ Illinois this week)

Western Kentucky just put up 28 pts on Kentucky... so that would seem to indicate that their offense is not all that hapless but despite the efforts of Bobby Rainey (the nations 4th leading rusher) they were only able to score 10 pts on Nebraska...

I am not even remotely saying that Nebraska is the play here because it is on the road vs a decent opponent but again Martinez has not looked like a frosh QB at all and Nebraska defense has recorded 8 sacks on 61 passing attempts from the opponent.. (that is with only 2 blitz induced sacks that I can recall). Meanwhile, Washington has recorded 2 sacks in 77 passing attempts from the opponents..

Nebraska is most certainly a top 10 team in all phases of the game and a team who could have easily blasted both of their opponents by 50+ but chose to blood some of the younger players instead of piling on... Martinez is every bit the runner than Denard Robinson of Michigan is and with a very good offensive line expect Nebraska to run for over 250 yards in this game..

Good defenses are immune to upsets.

                                                            THIS.....
