    Some Pac-10 thoughts....
Lane Kiffin is going to be cooked at SC. They will lose at least 4 games this year, and next year the wheels will be off.

So much for Norm Chow being an offensive genius. He was shutout by Stanford last night---AT HOME.

Neuheisel also is going to be fired.

    Stanford looks pretty good.

    Oregon look very very good.

I can't gauge Arizona or Washington yet.

October 2nd at Oregon----Stanford comes to town. That could be a very good game.

USC has Stanford, Cal, Oregon---back/back/back. They may lose all three.

You are right about UCLA. The game was televised on ESPN last night. Even their announcers could tell that the UCLA conditioning program is a complete failure. They were gasses in the 1st quarter. Neuheisel is going to be fired after this season. He is looking at a very possible 0-4 start, with Houston coming to town next week, followed by a trip to Austin. UCLA also must go to Cal, Oregon and Washington this season, plus host Oregon State, Arizona and USC. There is no way that UCLA wins 6 games.

USC played lethargic last night. It was as if they just wanted to get the game over with. Kiffin is going to fave to light a fire under this team. 4 losses certainly would not be a surprise, seeing as that is what most of the experts predicted. Kiffin survives for another 4 years minimum because of the sanctions imposed on USC. You can not blame him for that. He gets a free ride.

Wasington is going to be a disappointment. They lost to a rather average BYU team, and were behind in their game against Syracuse in the 2nd quarter. Do not expect a lot out of them this year. They go to USC, Oregon, Arizona and Cal, and that is very tough.

Arizona gets tested this week when Iowa comes calling. I took Iowa -2.5 on a futures play. I think Iowa has too much defense for Arizona.

BD---you may be right about USC/Kiffin.

But I honestly believe Pat Haden is going to do everything he can to get his own coach in there as soon as he can. Haden's comments about Bush----Haden's firing of McNair-----I think if Kiffing has a bad year, and makes the slightest of mistakes---he is toast.
