Here is a point to ponder. If Florida was at South Carolina in the same game they would be at least a 3 point favorite. In my opinion Georgia is the best team in that division. South Carolina's game with Southern Miss was misleading, it was closer than the score. Georgia ML for me. Good luck!

I'm on S.C. here.. Even with the new defense, S.C. should be able to pick up the blitz.. Not a huge difference in the 3-4 or 4-3.. Garcia has shown great improvement this spring and looked great in the opener.. I also believe S.C. defense can presure Aaron Murray early and cause him to rattle and make mistakes.. I think Murray will make a good QB, but this will be his 1st real test and i see him making mistakes that S.C. can capitalize on..

Thanks TheBest, I picked Georgia to win the West this year but that was with AJ Green. Just a difficult game to figure out. I do like Georgia's defense this year and there are 10 starters back on offense. The young QB for the Dawgs is going to be a good one.

On the flipside, this may be Spurrier's best team at South Carolina.

This game is an SEC East matchup, but I also like UGA here even without A.J. Green. I had a bet on South Carolina for that Southern Miss game and even though they covered easily I thought their defense looked pretty weak, and UGA still has way more weapons than Southern Miss without Green...I think I might throw in a teaser with WVU -6.5 and UGA +8.5

Also, S.C. offense will confuse Ga. a little.. S.C. will play their regular game, but also i expect to see the wildcock formation a few times, Connor Shaw taking a few snaps, and multiple RB's in the backfeild.. I expect to see Lattimore with a few big play oppertunities..

My bad Mr. M, I meant SEC EAST.

One large difference in this year's SC team is a kid named Marcus Lattimore. SC finished last in the SEC in rushing last year. This kid gives them a threat at running back that QB Garcia has needed. He is a difference maker the Gamecocks have needed.

Lattimore is a stud for sure...But UGA also has a couple of stud RB's, I don't really like this game that much either way at the -/+ 2.5, but this game is always close and UGA always plays well in Columbia, so i'll take my chances with UGA +8.5

Not sure which side will win but the under has traditionally been the play here. Already down to 47 from an opening of 50 1/2. Last year was the exception with a 41-37 Georgia win. Before that the scores were 14-7, 12-16, 18-0 and 17-15.

Gamecocks will roll in this one....My prediction is something like 30-17. Gamecocks get back their starting CB (Chris Culliver-big time NFL prospect) and one of their best O-linemen- Jarriel King that didn't play against Southern Miss----Georgia is without star WR AJ Green

I'll take my chances with a team that has much more weapons on offense and a solid JR QB at home vs. A freshman QB against a fierce SEC defense in a very tough environment.....Georgia has the bigger name and reputation, but this is a very tough spot for them.....I don't see it

Tough game to call here. Richt certainly has Spurriers number, going 4-1 S/U against him. Green will be missed, but not that much. This has been a very tight line at the books, with very little fluctuation. These games normally are very close. A pass for me at this time.

I know Im a homer but did we watch the same game last Thursday because this game was won at half time?? SC went into the 3rd quarter up 24 to 6 and put up 10 unanswered points in the 3rd qtr.

As for this game Sat. against UGA, its going to be a toss up. More than likely the team that has the ball last is going to win with a field goal. I am a SC Alum and have followed SC football since 1992 when we entered the SEC. I for one can tell you, DONT BET ON THIS GAME. You just never know whats going to happen.

Like previous posts have said I will take a Junior(RS) QB at home in this league over a Freshman(RS) QB starting his second game ever and first game on the road in the SEC in a very hostile environment.

Its going to be a hell of a ball game for sure! My prediction SC 24 UGA 21

South Carolina received formal notification Thursday that the NCAA is investigating its football program. The letter of inquiry doesn't specify any potential violations, but could signal weeks or months of uncertainty for the team. The NCAA has questioned South Carolina tight end Weslye Saunders about an agent hosted party in Miami. Saunders and starting left tackle Jarriel King were among several players asked to move out a Columbia hotel after questions were raised over unpaid bills and the rates the players were being charged. After practice Thursday, Spurrier had to confirm with an athletic spokesman the school had received the letter, then said he had no comment on the investigation. Saunders has been suspended indefinitely from the team since last month for reasons Spurrier said were unrelated to the NCAA probe. King and first team cornerback Chris Culliver missed the opener against Southern Miss because the NCAA had not ruled on their eligibility. Spurrier said yesterday the team still hasn't heard if the pair will be eligible for Saturday's game.

Could be a distraction for the Gamecocks................

I'm very good at betting SEC games.....didn't post on here, but bet a lot on Auburn last night with the local bookie (I know, I know big deal LOL)

Believe me when I say that Georgia is not in a good spot in this one.....SC is more talented almost everywhere (starters wise) and are at home in a rowdy stadium.....Aaron Murray will be rattled and tested big time.....bank on it. Gamecocks under Spurrier have been a damn good home team.

Good luck Georgia backers, but it's the wrong bet IMO

no way I'd wager on Murray in this spot in a hostile enviroment.
anxious to see how he handles the pressure though.
not having AJ is going to be huge tomorrow although the other 1/2 of the team that didnt play last week will be back

Freshman QB for the Bulldogs.... I'm all over S.Carolina. This game has been close every year but it won't be this year ... South Carolina should win by more than 10 pts tomorrow.

my POD is USC -3...... without Green I don't like UGA's odds of throwing the ball. I know they can run the ball but USC can key on that with all the talent on their defense. Don't like backing Garcia at QB but its a great play IMO

its a win/win situation unless SC wins by 1 or 2.
murray doing better than expected but missed tackles killing them...
