I hope that most of you remember to take your TOTAL bankroll and divide it into 3 separate bankrolls. If you have $3000...divide it by 3 to have three separate $1000 bankrolls. Work off of one bankroll of $1000. If it is $1000, each opening bet that I give you should be 5% of that bankroll. 5 percent of that would be $50 which is in exchange of the $100 I tell you to bet. In other words, when I tell you to bet $100..if your bankroll is $1000, you bet $50 instead of the $100 I tell you to bet. After each week, you change your bankroll either up or down (whether you win or lose). The reason I tell you to divide your bankroll by 3 is because you aren't risking everything and you still have 2/3 of your total money just waiting in case you need it. I hope everyone understands my Money Management Plan..................VG...

A question VG, a lot of games ends with result difference based on sum of the variables 3 and 7. So with your long experience, is it worth buying the hook at a pricier line when the line is based on this scenario like today. Have +16.5 at -104, +17 (3+7+7) for -118 - do this save enough losses be pushes to make up for the extra chalk one would lose? Should one have a roof (say -110) and if one can get +17 at that price its OK...

or am I just overthinking things a bit and should just stick with +16.5

SolidDala, The winning handicappers I know are very conscious of the price they have to lay. With the volume of bets during a season, finding a place that is minus 105 instead of 110 or 115 could be the difference of having a profit or not. Some of these places charge a 25 cent premium for a half point. I would say, if you can't live with the number, just pass. It helps if you have multiple sources to find the right number/price.

Thx Checkraise!!, one thing I have looked very much into is the vig-price and I never play at 20-cents bookies just 10 cents! If one cap 53.5% thats just break even at -115, but at -105 its a solid income over time! Was just curious if that push factor would save enough losses to compensate the % different. I reckon most lines are based on just combinations of 3-7 witch means most bets have to buy the hook, therefor most bets would be pricey and therefor just stick with the line given...
