    LSU -3.5 @ -101 or -5 @ +118
Which has a better value? I hate having the hook on the 3 and taking 5 will give me a decent price.

If you would play LSU, which would you play and why?

I would take the -5 +118 but taht is me. I have no math to back up my decision but rather a feeling after reading on this game for three hours that I feel comfortable with at least a touchdown win by LSU.

Thanks for your input. I'll probably make my decision tomorrow about playing it.

Personally I think it depends how much you're betting. If your profit will be much greater at +118, I say go for it.

I would say take -3.5. Only because if LSU wins by 4 you will be on suicide watch. If they win by 21, you will still win. The main thing is to win. Maximizing profits is always nice, but I would take the best line possible on the National Championship. Just my opinion.

Take LSU -5....LSU did not lose in regulation this year, both losses came in triple OT. Ohio St lost at home, to a team that lost by 32 in the Rose Bowl. LSU is now healthy, you can see how well USC played when healthy. LSU started the year ranked #2, Ohio St #11. None of Ohio St's opponents were ranked in the top 20 when they played them. Ohio St may start the game playing very tight since they got killed last year vs Florida...LSU will be loose knowing #1 and #2 had the lose on the last week just to get in....you can say the same thing for Ohio St except last years loss won't allow them to come in feeling the same way.

It isn't really about us playing LSU, it is about you playing LSU.

You handicapped the game. You are on LSU's side. Do you think it will be a comfortable victory? If so, bet it -5. Think it'll be close? Then 10 - 6 or 21 - 17 or whatever is possible and you should take 3.5.

Take the spread you think is going to win.

westside gives all the points needed. Everyone say what LSU did to teams when they were healthy earlier this year. OSU has not played as many teams with speed like LSU has. I think if LSU gives a few turnovers then OSU has a chance, otherwise it'll be a 10 point win.

It's not like LSU has had all 22 starters in ICU most of the year. Dorsey will get handled up front. Florida has more speed than LSU and got killed by big old slow Michigan. It comes down to motivation and preparation. Tressel will eat Miles' lunch. This could be a huge blowout win for OSU.

I would say to that, Ohio State is better than Kentucky and Arkansas.

Ohio St may be better than Arkansas or Kentucky but how would you really know?? Even so, it took 3 OT's to beat LSU each time..no one out classed them or dominated them. Ohio St. played an easier schedule. When LSU was healthy at the begining of the year, their defense was awesome. Each team has had four weeks to get prepared and healthy and I feel this brings us back almost to the beginning of the season again...and when the year started no one was talking about Ohio St while everyone was talking about LSU. This game being in a dome will allow LSU's team speed to be at it's peak...no elements to slow them down. PLus, Les Miles is a go for broke coach...goes for it on fourth down many times...he will coach this balls to the wall...while Ohio St most definitely doesn't want to be embarrassed again, which keeps you from going balls to the wall...they won't want to make mistakes. IMO, Ohio St would have to play a near perfect game and have at least 2 more turnovers then LSU to win...if they get turnovers and control the tempo of the game, they could win...but I just see LSU winning by 10-14 pts....

                            GL you guys

If this game was played a month ago OSU had a chance to win the game because LSU was banged up after playing with the cream of the crop in the tough SEC.

However, since LSU is healthy now with amble time to prepare for the non-existent OSU offense and the miserable Big Ten defense they play they will be run out of the stadium with their pants soiled like they did last year against the Gators. The difference between SEC and Big Ten is humongous and I see OSU backers to pack it by half time and go to bed early tonight.

True it took OT to beat LSU both tmes this year but it took a lot of intangibles to pull out wins versus Alabama , Auburn, and Florida. Other than their blowout wins the first 2 weeks when have they been so impressive ?

In my opinion, if you're giving up 3.5, you may as well give up the full 5 and get the +118 odds. The only way -3.5 wins but -5 doesnt is if they win by 4, not very likely. I'd either buy to -3 or go for the -5 +118
