    Purdue
A game I have been overlooking but looks pretty intriguing is Purdue +11.5 vs. Notre Dame. I know they only return 12 starters and lost their QB, but this is the coaches 2nd year so maybe they keep the momentum going on offense. If there are any Purdue experts out there, what kind of team do you expect this year? I generally like to fade the public teams and this seems like too many points to lay.

This is a game where I would normally love to take Purdue, especially given the way that the Boilermakers closed out the 2009 campaign (4-2 with a win over champion Ohio State). They played every team tight (four losses by seven or fewer). HOWEVER, I think you have to pass on this game to see how Purdue will perform without Ralph Bolden, last year's third leading rusher in the Big Ten who was lost in the spring to a serious knee injury and may not return this season.

This is a game where you may be able to gain more insight for the short term (especially since Purdue could be a surprise team in the Big Ten this year) by not wagering on the game and watching it closely.

Jason, the starting QB is Robert Marve who is a transfer from Miami. Problem for Marve is a running game and offensive line. Ralph Bolden, the number one running back tore a knee up in spring practice and is out for the year. Lots of new starters on offense. May take awhile to get going.

One bright spot is receiver Keith Smith who led the Big 10 in catches last year (91) if Marve has time to get him the ball.

Purdue also is sporting a brand new secondary.

I am staying away from this one. Brian Kelly can flat out coach, and I think he will put the foot down on Purdue to make an impression if given any chance.

That said----both ND and Purdue are coming off QBs with knee injuries. Marve and Crist both tore up their knees.

ND will probably crush Purdue, but it's a tough game to bet in Week 1 with so many question marks and new setups.

            Total of 54 seems high.

This is a total no action game. You're better laying the big chalk with Florida against an inferior opponent like Miami Ohio.

lay off of it, OR take ND. Kelly in his debut, you have to believe A LOT of coaching has gone into this one, and as Martin said, "kelly can flat out coach"

This is a tough one....eventhough I am a Boilermaker, but I would take Purdue plus the points. I'm still on the fence tho.

Remember......Purdue/ND games are ALWAYS close and USUALLY go Under...

I would lay off this one, but I would pick the OVER on it. The Boilermaker is unpredictable as of now.

i think PURDIZZLE keeps it close and can have a shot to win this game...they shoulda won it last year when ND had all mighty jimmy clausen at the helm and they only lost in the final seconds....the dizzle have a a solid QB with Marve and I think he will impress many people, as a former recruit of DA U! I HOPE they whip up and roll ND by 50+ but in the end I think it will be very close, most likely an L but they will cover
