My week 1 leans....

I like most of the plays especially Pitt. I mentioned in a post below that Auburn plays Miss St. the following Thursday night and in this case Auburn has to travel which will cut into even more of their preparation time. I might be making too big of a deal of this, but I think having an intra division conference game on a short week will hurt these teams cover their inflated point spreads. Arkansas State is a fundamentally solid team with a good running game and Auburn is breaking in a new qb. I am pretty high on Auburn in general and think they will finish 2nd in the SEC west, but I'm curious to know why you like them in this game.

Being from Alabama and listening to local media and Aub. staff interviews I really believe that Chesik and Malzon have a chip on there shoulder and will keep thier foot on the accelerator and crush a weak team. You make a very valid point (miss st. on a short week) that will factor in my play selection. I should have looked at that but didnt, thanks.

Bet Phoenix has Northwestern at -2.5. I would wait and see if other books go down. Stay away from SMU. As a matter of fact, they now become a good fade because they lost both of their starting CB's and are very thin in the defensive secondary. It is going to be bombs away for Texas Tech's air game. Wisky looks like a good play, if they decide to play all 4 quarters.

this, some of the 1st games are like preseason around the 4th quarter they'll slow down, and put some players of the 2nd team to gain experience and evaluate especially with meaningful foes, and when the team have huge advantages (21+)

nice leans, i hope northwestern line stays in 2.5 range

bol, i was also leaning SMU, since TTU is going to run a bit more this year. I'm tempted by Arizona since they have so much to prove and have te offensive potential to blow toledo. WKU is very interesting, if the lines goes a little higher i might go for them, otherwise, i'll stay away

BD, where did you get this info? I've been trying to find reports on this team's fall camp and have found very little.

northwestern at -3 is the lock of week 1. northwestern ended last season by beating iowa, illinois and wisconsin, and should have beat auburn who is in the SEC and far superior to vanderbilt. with that being said they got the extra practice time and breaking in a new quarterback is easier when its just a system qb. northwestern hasnt lost a opening week game since 2004, vanderbilts replacing a coach and their best recruit got murdered. while it may be an emotional day in nashville northwestern has to much depth all over the field. new coach for vandy but he doesnt have time to implement a new system.. big play for week 1.

I don't know how this game will turn out but I don't think the Utah Defense holds Dion Lewis. I believe as Lewis goes the game goes.
