    Fresno State -1 vs. Cincy..
    Love this..

Cincy will be horse shit this year and I think Pat Hill will get his team going this year after underachieving the last couple years with a tough schedule.

Huge opportunity for the Bulldogs to win the opener at home here against a down Cincy team with a new coach.

Just a first impression on a game that really sticks out to me for week 1..

Love this play too. Cincy is going to have to deal with the jet lag, as this game doesn't start until 10pm eastern. Fresno will win with that strong running game going up against a Cincy defense that has to replace 6 starters.

cincy lost a lot, fresno always tough at home, multi time zone travel important too.

But can fresno stop cincy? That is the question you have to ask yourself. The offense is still going to run smooth with out pike and ginyard. And fresno defense is not what it used to be. I can see this being a shootout. And with a shootout scenario anybody can win. I would lay off and bet cincy later down the road against nc state. NC state's DB's are one of the worst in the country and cincy should role in this one. But the fresno game would be a good measure to see how cincy will be defensively.

Go to the Wisconsin - UNLV game or watch the Cincinnati - Fresno State (and Wisconsin - UNLV) game in the sportsbook...

          Tough call.

I have no idea where Fresno stands right now. But I do know...the Cincy QB who filled in for Pike last year was very impressive. He could throw the rock and run for first downs.

First game of the season..I would favor betting on that QB from Cincy. I'll say it again..He impressed me.

Obviously I have to do more research..but at first look. I would take Cincy

I have to agree with Angelodebo. Zach Collaros looked very good. Very mobile qb that can throw the ball too. And how do you know Fresno will have a strong running game? Ryan Matthews is gone. He was their team. Haha and where do you get they are tuff at home? The got destoyed by Boise and barely beat UTAH ST. and La Tech. Cincy is def the play here.

Go to the Wisconsin - UNLV game
Might go to this game too, actually
                    Zach Collaros looked very good.
Yeah, he tore up South Florida on the ground when Pike was out last year and lit up Cuse and the Ville through the air (not saying much though).

I can see this being a shootout.
                    Yep. FSU's 98th ranked total D vs. Cincy's 67th from 2009.

Need more research, but its a first impression based on a hunch that Pat Hill gets the dogs going this year. They play a tough schedule every year, were unbelievably close to beating Wisconsin last two years, competed @ Cincy and lost by 8 last year, competed early with BSU last year, won @ Illinois, won @ Rutgers and UCLA in 2008..they compete with and beat ranked teams every year.

Just don't see them losing at home in their opener against a rebuilding team with a new coach flying 2,500 miles out West..the crowd at Bulldog stadium will be up for it too, Hill will sell his team and the fans this as a big game, a chance to beat a Big 6, Big East Champ school, personally saw them get up for Wisconsin in 2008, would have won too if not for kicker missing 5 FGs/Extra Points to lose by 3.

I almost want to use the L word for Fresno in this game..

                        Wow.

May I ask if you can expound upon the apparent shitiness of Cincinatti?

I mean, other than: [A] Butch Johnson coming in to replace Brian Kelly, or [B] Zach Collaros stepping into the starting role?

I think Cincy will take a step back overall (they can't do much better than last season), but I think they win this game. Collaros is very good and Butch Jones runs the same type of offense Kelly did. Their defense will be atrocious though, which is a concern for future games, but I think they find a way to win here.

Live in the Fresno area... Pat Hill has switched to a more passing oriented offense this year after losing Ryan Mathews... This would not be a problem if Derek Car (David's younger brother) was getting the chance to start at QB.. Colburn the current starter will throw an interception in a key moment of the game that gives this game away.. Fresno will have to try and outscore Cincy since their D is not improved at all and I just don't like their chances of doing that...

                                  @big east media days....

Some speculated Gilyard would have a huge issue getting catches in this receiver corps. Binns, usc tranf Hazelton, DJ woods, Barnett, and a returning te. This offense is better. They return RB Isiah Pead, and lets not forget Colloros was in contention for starting job when Pike came back. This offense will LIGHT UP fresno defense. I honestly see this game UC by 3-4 scores

Handicapping early weeks of college football are all about combining experience with value. In this match-up, Fresno holds the experience edge with 15 returning starters, 75% returning lettermen, including a defense that returns 81% of its tackles, and a veteran offensive line. Combined with the continuity of the coaching staff, the experience factor clearly favors Fresno. It has not worked out well for Pat Hill to play anybody, anywhere, anytime. Last 5 years, he is 25-39 ATS with a -40 TO's. Last 3 years alone, the Bulldogs are -30 TO's. With a 2 year log, 8-16 ATS by a combined -117 points from the spread, now is the time to search for value with Fresno. Experience and value point out the Bulldogs in this one.

Thanks, was too lazy to look up returners.

To the rest of you, good luck laying minus points (odds changed, Cincy -2) for a rebuilding team with a new coach on the road in the opener

More to those who think Cincy will simply "pick up where they left off" from last year no problem whatsoever in transition facing the same team on the ROAD that hung with them 28-20 IN Cincy the year prior against what was a MUCH better and established Cincy team.

The run D was shredded in '09, and the pass D is horrible at taking the ball away. Home field, the coaching changes, and the opportunity to come out and make a statement on offense vs. a BCS team is why I like them, 33-28.
