This is a short trip for an improving MSU squad. Memphis is a huge SEC town. It borders on Arkansas, TN, MS and is a hot bed for SEC talent. There is a huge MSU fan base there (along with bama, Arky, TN, ole miss, LSU). I know I lived and coached there for a long time. Heck, Jackie Sherrill still lives there. This will be a blow out by the Bulldogs in familiar surroundings in familiar weather.

It's all going to come down to Kevin Smith versus a pretty solid MSU front four. If I had the answer to that I'd play this game heavy. As it stands now this game is a no-play for me...

Here is my opinion. Croom and MSU is excited to be at the Liberty Bowl and they will have the crowd edge in Memphis. Believe it or not UCF has the better skill players, a solid D, and strong special teams. UCF is 1-12 versus SEC schools though. Watch out for that guy Kevin Smith. He is an All American RB and is solid. Trust me, Croom and MSU has heard about that guy constantly over the last couple of weeks and they will man up and be ready for war. MSU has one of the fastest defenses UCF has faced and I know an SEC defense will hold down Smith. This is really a great year for Croom after all he has to deal with coaching at MSU. They played a muderous schedule, plus they are going to have the home crowd, and plus they are an underdog against a school that has played 1A football for only 12 years??? Croom and MSU will beat UCF outright. The 3 points is a gift from Croom so thank him for it! I'm all over MSU.

I have Central Florida as a -7, so I would have to go with them at the -2.5 that is out there now. My total is around 57, so I would lean toward the OVER 54.
