For those wondering,
Coach Franchione did not call the defensive or offensive plays for his last game vs Texas. This resulted in 38 points vs Texas and a career high 350+ yards for Stephen McGee.
Les Koening, who is rumored to be interviewing for the UH job, will be calling the offensive gameplan and showed he is much more balanced and innovative than that dumbass before him.
I see value in Texas A&M, however, A&M hasnt shown up in big games-bowl games, for quite a while now (blame it on Fran being outcoached, if u wish). Its a tossup. I set the line at -5 and it was at -4 1/2

You are right about the play calling. The aggs very well could have been BCS bound the last 2 years with Les calling the plays. All Magee needs is reps in that in that system to develop into a B+ QB. With Frans plays and no reps for Magee is is a C+ QB at best.
A&M will be playing a HOME GAME at the ALAMO DOME. Magee and the O will have a month to prep LES KOENING's play calls, I really like that AGGS to play a brand new style of ball and put up some points on PENN ST. A&M has the tallent to do so.

Great points mv, and I DO think that A&M shows up this year, especially in their home state.

I have a hard time betting against Joe Paterno, even if he's not quite as sharp as he was in years past. And I also remember very well what happened the last time A&M played this 'home game' against Penn State. The Aggies also had a 'home game' in the Alamodome against a very shaky Army squad to open the 2006 season, and it took a goal line stand late for A&M to just win SU, much less cover the spread.
My blood runs maroon, but my wallet only sees green. I'm hoping the line gets bet down to four or less and then I'll fade the Aggies.

...not to mention the showing the aggies had for the "home" game against Tenn (Cotton Bowl). Man what a game they had. Think I was drunk 10 minutes into the game. What a waste of time and money that trip was.

Aggies all the way on this one. Penn St seems a bit slow to me.

Hope you're right, Rollins. Also hope to come up with some freebies to this one since it's just down the road.

My play is based on a couple of things. First, Texas A&M just finished a tumultuos season and lost 4 of 5 games during the Franchoine fiasco but did finish by knocking off Texas for the 2nd straight year. Penn State was a Big Ten front runner to start the season, but those hopes quickly faded as the season progressed. This is really a one sided matchup with a powerful Nittany Lion defense facing a one dimensional offense. The Lions front seven can dominate the run game of A&M and the Aggies have had no success when forced to throw (see Miami Thursday night embarrasment loss replay). Paterno is from the old school and is a bowl genius and will have his team prepared and focused even in this lower tier bowl. Guys Penn State is a steal at giving up 5.5. They are going to win big and it will be at least by two touchdowns or more.

I agree with the analysis 100% but Fran called the games where the offense was so one dimensional it was disgusting. Les Koenning, the OC, called the Texas game and McGee actually was told to throw the ball that included something more than 5 yard outs.
If they call a ballgame, 50-50 run pass.. ATM covers maybe wins..
If they go run heavy again which is highly unlikely because the coaches are playing for jobs at other locations, they will get blown out.

I have Penn State at -5, so I would lean Texas A&M +6. My total is around 53, I would lean toward the OVER 51.
No bets for me in this one, good luck everyone.

Don't ask me why I bet side and total in the same game, because usually when I do that I go 1-1, but I did it so I got Texas A&M +5.5 and the o51.5 for a unit each

I actually bet the under 51.5 in this game. I did some research on this game and Penn State is tough defensively, when looking at there past 5 bowl games, PSU has given up an average of 12 pts a game. Giving a Joe Paterno staff over a month to prepare for this game,I definitely like my chances here in a low scoring affair. A&M is getting a break here as well, by not facing a high powered offense in Penn State compared to the offenses they faced in the Big 12 this season. Im confident that the under 51.5 is a solid play
