Who Will Be The Darkhorse Non BCS Team To Surprise?
No TCU, Utah, BYU or Boise State is included in this discussion.

Who do you guys think will rise from average team to 10 win plus this year in a non BCS conference?

Really like SMU, think June Jones will turn things around for the Mustangs. If they can upset TTU or Navy on the road they have a shot at 9 or 10 wins. Don't think they're ready to crash the BCS yet, but they definitely can put together a nice season with 15 returning starters and a favorable conference schedule (get Tulsa and Houston at home)

ok, going real dark here. Kent state if they can shock BC. BC has VT the week after and could over look Kent. Penn State will probably pound them but it will be after the bama game so it could be a let down game for Penn state. They could keep it close. Not saying they will win but could crack the top 25, if they can keep it close with BC and Penn. Assuming they run threw the MAC. Which their biggest test will probably be temple or Ohio.
Next I have Middle tenn st. First game vs Minnesota is very winnable. then later down the schedule against GT. Which is struggled with their defense and if you can score you can win. They should crush the Sun belt with their biggest test against Troy, and troy has lost their stud QB. They are my sleeper team for 2010. Almost certain they will crack the top 25.

I know they are alot of "ifs" but when you want dark horses from non-bcs conferences and not wanting Utah, BYU, TCU, and Boise we are scraping the bottom of the barrel. And these are very dark.

Some less dark would be the usuals like Houston and Fresno. But what fun are those. It seems like they are always dark horses every year.

Also agree with fish about MTSU being solid this year. But they did have 10 wins last year, don't think they will be sneaking up / a surprise to anyone this year.
