I am very curious as to why he resigned. Usually when a coach resigns like this there is something pretty devastating to his reputation that is about to come out.

Maybe he was hanging out with Mike Evans the nite he got busted drunk and having panties between his legs.

He actually "retired" for personal reasons that aparently have nothing to do with his health. Vandy is lucky because the team was going nowheres this season, so they will have all season to find another coach and see how interim head coach Robbie Caldwell does.

How good a coach was he? Certainly a tough job if there are any expectations.

Great coach known for getting the very most out of his players. Was hired at Vandy after taking Furman to the NCAA 1AA national championship game.

If nothing wrong, then he should have retired earlier this year. How many kids commited to play for him, and a new coach wouldnt have enough time to install his system. I dont get it

Exactly, any fan of a SEC school will tell you this. No way Vandy got "lucky" with this.

he retired this late because he knew it would be hard to find a replacement for this season, Now his staff gets to keep their jobs for another season.

They signed more blue chippers this year than ever. If they have some success this season, they will permanently fill the HC job from within and keep the staff intact. Never say never, even about Vandy.
