Well I lean toward Rice in this one, So Miss starting qb isn't playing, and their 2nd string qb is hurt too but will probably play. Rice is terrible but 20 points is alot.

rice has been giving up a lot of points 42, 59, 58, and 3rd string QB looked pretty good against Boise st. I feel that the line will drop now that the news is out that the 2nd string QB isn't going to play, but I think the public will move it down too much.

The thrid stringer has never taken a snap. The second dtringer was playing against Boise(Reaves) and looked bad. 6/15 for 29 yards are the numbers.

I for one don't see how So. Miss can be giving 20+ points when they have a QB that has never started a game. Rice is going to score probably two touchdowns. So. Miss just does not have fire power to put up 40 or 50 points.

They still put up 24 and and 14 against Texas Tech and Texas, both of which are better than So. Miss. Southern Miss hasn't scored more than 35 this year, and that was against Tenn-MA who isn't even a 1A team. So. Miss gave up 13 in that game. Southern Miss will have to completely shutout Rice to cover 21, and I don't think So. Miss has the D to shutout anyone.
