I'm going to lay the 3 TDs or do a rare teaser with Purdue. Fat Charlie's quote "We're done losing to teams like Purdue." adds a little extra motivation (even though they don't really need it). I don't think Tiller will lay off the gas in this one.

Do you think Ga. Tech is better than Clemson?

I rate them almost exactly the same. I think BC's the class of the conference, FSU and VT are a step behind, and then Clemson, Miami, and GT are slightly behind those three.

Two weeks ago everyone would have said GT was better than Clemson ... now it seems like everyone is down on the Jackets, but both their losses are totally benign IMO. They'll have the better defense as a home pup, which is something I always look for, and they can take away Clemson's #1 offensive strategy. I don't think Cullen is anywhere near as good as his numbers, and I want to see him do it against this defense. If he can, I'll give him lots of credit, but I really expect GT to win this game.

I think the line's short, but I don't want any part of FSU as a favorite against a team with comparable, if slightly inferior, talent and athleticism. I think it's clear that Alabama has the much better offense and FSU has the much better defense. It comes down to intangibles, and I don't think either team has much of an advantage in that department.

I actually went to the UGA/Alabama game, and I was left with two thoughts. Give Mark Richt either team's roster, and he beats Nick Saban, and Alabama's defense, which was shredded against Arkansas and had been criticized mercilessly in these parts, isn't quite as bad as previously thought. Yes, UGA dropped some passes, Bama missed some tackles, but they really were in position to make plays all night and - without their best player (in Alabama Fan's opinion, I disagree) - they went on and made those plays for the most part.

Bottom line, I would have a hard time recommending either side unless Xavier Lee somehow gets named the starter and then I would take a look at FSU. Which way were you leaning?
