Don't get overly excited about them beating a terrible Syracuse team. They have a true freshman QB, and a very young defense. You could make a case for putting them ahead of Arizona, but Zona's defense is significantly better, and their offense will improve as they better learn O-coordinator Sonny Dykes' system. Washington's a year away from being good. Look at their schedule - they'll have a hard time winning 3 conference games.
I actually wanted to put ASU higher, but I can't put them ahead of UCLA or Cal. However, I will be betting ASU a lot this year - they're winning 10 games this season.

There's no reason to rank Oregon, ASU, UCLA or Oregon State in anything other than random order until we find out more from them... all four of those teams are very, very good and could contend for a conference title. Oregon and ASU probably have the most upside as well as the most questions, while we know more about UCLA and OSU.
I've been on UW all off season, and I think that they could surprise this year, and Wazzu is actually not bad - they play hard, don't make many mistakes and play efficiently, but they don't have the athletic talent of the rest of the conf.
I expected more from Arizona and I was really disappointed with them in the opener, they looked AWFUL.
Stanfurd sucks.

Not sure what everyone sees in UCLA. Oregon State is going to blow them out in a couple weeks.
GV, my having Cal #1 in the conference is hardly an indictment of SC. I had Cal #3 in the nation in my preseason top 25, and they sure didn't change my mind in making a pretty solid SEC team look totally outclassed.

Until I see that, I rank them right below UCLA. I guess I could of made them both #3.

UCLA will slide down on everyone's rankings this week when BYU goes to the Coliseum and beats them heads up. The fact that I am getting 7 points is bonus...
