Does anyone have an opinion on which way the BYU line will move?

I think UCLA wins by DD. As long as UCLA stays physical on defense I think they gave BYU fits. Lot of people on Zona and BYU won convincingly....UCLA won on the road, albeit was Stanford, but it was a conf game nonetheless. I got UCLA -7, but I can see why 8.5 gets your attention.

BYU looks good on paper after ARIZONA, but won't after UCLA (who can score) has their way in this game. I agree, a DD win for UCLA.
Will probably roll 1*UCLA- on this one.

I also like the Bruins.

I was on Zona yesterday, and while they won convincingly, there's no comparison between Zona's offense and UCLA's offense.

With a young and experienced BYU offense playing on the road against a very talented and athletic Bruins' defense, I think this game could get out of hand. BYU is nowhere near as good as they were last year.

This line looks about right to me. UCLA looked good against Stanford in my opinion. I also thought BYU looked decent against Arizona. I don't know. Emotionally, BYU still thinks nationally they get zero respect. Mendenhall knows it. These MWC/WAC teams going against Pac 10 teams spell "chip on their shoulder". I would tread cautiously.

Like BYU in this spot. Thought they finished the season as one of the top 5 teams in I-A. I agree, BYU gets little respect. They should make it a game. If I get +8.5, I am taking it...

you do realize that BYU does not have their same QB?

Max Hall sat out last year and is a transfer form Arizona. I think the line is fair...as I had it at 8.5, UCLA had a convincing win over Stanford and BYU had the same over Arizona. So this is the second game v a Pac10 opponent and this time it is on the road v a more physical defense and a better offense.

I agree that there are huge downsides in backing BYU in this one -- road game, new QB, etc. But they didn't lose a lot on the defensive side of the ball. I wouldn't bet the farm on them and there are much better games on this weekend's card. But if I had to pick UCLA or BYU, I'd pick BYU.

I follow the MWC pretty closely. I graduated from an MWC school and worked in sports info at a different MWC school for five years. I got to be where I could really pick the MWC games. Last week, made serious coin betting with BYU and against Utah and New Mexico. This week don't love BYU but like them and I don't love Air Force but I like them to cover against Utah.

Was hoping they'd make this 10, because I feel Be White U will keep this close. Not playing it at +7 or so, but the line sort of makes me feel the oddsmakers believe the Cougs are the play.
