Friday Hawaii vs UNLV Best Bets & TD Picks
The late Friday CFB game features a Mountain West matchup between the Rainbow Warriors and Rebels at 10:30 PM ET on FS1.

SBR's Isaiah Sirois has his Hawaii vs UNLV best bets & TD picks ready to go:

Micah Alejado Over 315.5 passing yards (-114 via FanDuel)

"I didn’t expect quarterback Micah Alejado’s passing yardage prop to be this high, but we’ve absolutely got to lay the Over. Hawaii’s offense works through the passing game – head coach Timmy Chang’s unit throws at the fifth-highest rate (61.3%). Against a UNLV defense that ranks 102nd in yards allowed per pass attempt (7.8), Alejado will be a problem.

While Alejado is averaging only 264.4 passing yards per contest, filtering to only his conference starts gives us an average of 287.6. When we look at Alejado’s production versus teams that struggle in yards allowed per pass attempt, encouraging results emerge: 136th Air Force (457), 130th San Jose State (367), 117th Colorado State (301).

Alejado’s in-conference numbers are skewed to the lower end by matchups versus San Diego State (256) and Fresno State (214), both of which rank top-10 by yards allowed per pass attempt. Let’s back him for another big game versus a much more beatable defense."

Pofele Ashlock Over 57.5 receiving yards (-114 via FanDuel)

"Hawaii’s leading receiver, Jackson Harris, sports a receiving yardage prop of 96.5, or 30.5% of Alejado’s implied production. Second-leading receiver Pofele Ashlock is at 57.5, or just 18.2%. But in just the games Ashlock, Harris, and Alejado have played together, Ashlock accounts for 491 receiving yards, or 20.8% of the damage.

That two percent split is meaningful. Since conference play began, which has seen the trio of Ashlock, Harris, and Alejado suit up each time, Ashlock has averaged 55 receiving yards per game. While Harris has been unstoppable and exploded for 108.5 over the same sample, I’d rather take the better number with Ashlock, who has three 100-plus yard games to his name.

UNLV will struggle to stop Hawaii’s passing attack, so let’s stack Alejado’s Over with another Over for one of his top receivers."

Anthony Colandrea anytime touchdown scorer (-121 via Caesars)

"I’m surprised that the juice for UNLV quarterback Anthony Colandrea to find paydirt isn’t, well, juicier. The Rebels have increasingly relied upon their dual-threat signal-caller near the goal line in conference play, with him averaging a touchdown per game since it began.

Hawaii’s defense has held up against opposing quarterbacks as rushers, especially in conference play, but I expect some regression here. The Rainbow Warriors rank only 73rd in yards allowed per rush attempt (4.3) and are a bottom-quartile team in defensive line yards per rush (3.13)."
