#17 Alabama vs #5 Georgia Predictions
Perhaps the best rivalry in modern college football takes place Saturday night on ABC when #5 Georgia welcomes #17 Alabama to town.

Bama already has a loss to Florida State while Georgia dodged a bullet against Tennessee.

The Crimson Tide have won 9 of the last 10 meetings with the Bulldogs. Will the trend continue?

SBR's Rob Paul takes a look at Saturday's rivalry game in his early Alabama vs Georgia prediction:

    Alabama +3.5 (-120)

"If Alabama lost on the road against a top 10 SEC team to start the season, there probably wouldn't have been Alabama next coach odds available a few days later. But the Crimson Tide lost to a then-unranked Florida State squad coming off a 2-10 season. However, the Seminoles are now ranked No. 8 and look like the same team that went 13-1 two years ago.

My point is, the Crimson Tide panic was overblown, and this team once again looks like a legitimate College Football Playoff odds contender after whipping Wisconsin two weeks ago. Coming off a bye, I think Ty Simpson, Ryan Williams, and Germie Bernard can take advantage of an underachieving Georgia secondary and keep this game close, if not win outright, for the second year in a row.

DeBoer knows offense, and Simpson has settled in as QB1 and even looks like a Heisman Trophy odds sleeper - he's top 15 in the country in QBR (81.5), TD passes (9), and adjusted completion rate (82.4%). Plus, this defense bounced back in a big way against the Badgers and is littered with NFL talent.

Alabama is one of just two teams ranked in the top eight in both offense and defense by SP+, while Georgia ranks outside the top 10 in both. That's why I'm all in on the Crimson Tide covering this 3.5-point spread."
