Tennessee Losing Recruits, Want Muschamp

It was reported that former Tennessee, and now USC recruiting guru Ed Orgeron called various Tennessee recruits who were on campus early and told them not to attend classes today, becuase if they did not attend today's openinig classes, they would not be tied to the University and could opt out of their commitments. So far, at least two 4 star recruits have opted out, and are aparently headed to USC. This is worst case senario for Tennessee, who hired Kiffin and Orgeron for their recruiting capabilities as much as anything else.

Tennessee is said to be looking to lure Texas DC and "coach in waiting" Will Muschamp to Knottsville, but that effort is not very likely to succeed. Tennessee needs to find someone in a big hurry or face the loss of many of their recruits.

This doesn't make sense to me. A kid who committed to UT doesn't up & want to go to USC! It's not like they signed at UT because of the world class coach & now must follow him all the way across the country because his coaching style is what fits them?!?! Kiffin is not an offensive genius that QB's want to learn from to get in the pros like Weiss. Defensive players may be hung out to dry who wanted to work under papa kiffin, but in the big picture any kid who signed with UT will be better off staying at UT.

Both teams are in a rebuilding process right now, UT is in the SEC the NFL's pickin ground. High % of kids pick a school due to geography so why would they want to reconsider & go to USC? to follow a douchebag???

ESPN reported that Fulmer has been contacted about the job.
I think their top choices will be Muschamp or Cutcliff

It has now been reported that Kiffin told Tennessee that if the USC job was offered to him, he would take it, so Tennessee should have expected this. I doubt that they land Muschamp. Texas will just sweeten the pot. I really do not know enough about Cutcliff to comment on him.

He has won 9 games in 2 years at Duke, two coming against FCS teams. I am not overly impressed. He would be their 5th pick. The fact is that Tennessee is really screwed recruiting wise now. Cutcliff has history in SEC with Tenn and Ole Miss. During his time at both schools they set offensive records. Granted he was coaching Peyton Manning and Eli Manning though.
He has no players at Duke, ya give him the talent thats in the SEC and he can make it work.

I have not heard anything else about the Houston Nutt rumor. The latest I have heard is that Phillip Fulmer is trying to help the school find a new HC, which would indicate that he is not in the running, or would it?

USC and TENN have the same amount of players in NFL. both over 40.

but anyways...USC is better than UT anyday.

oh and usc has produced the second or first highest amount of recruits ever behind or ahead of notre dame
