That game was pathetic.... Bama shouldnt of won like they did. They played LOUSY on both sides. Texas went to pass only in 2nd half, so we dont know about the run defense.... but passing with backup freshman QB was horrible. For him to hit the two he did just tells me how Colt McCoy would of lit them up. This game would of been completely different with McCoy.... yes, completely. I had Bama -3, but I can assure you that we would of lost had McCoy been healthy. No stupid TO at end of half for TD is just one. The pathetic 5-23 would of been 19-23 passing the ball opening wholes for some running. This Bama Defense just wasnt the same I've seen. We got pretty lucky, but in saying that... no one can predict the actual outcome if he was there... just giving my thoughts on Bama.
Also, Bama couldnt throw the ball for anything, their QB got sacked nearly the times he completed a pass, lol.
I hated the way this game was played, did anyone else? I mean just about the whole game was based on errors from start to finish with the players and the coaching. Were there really any drives? I think only one or two at most, otherwise it was broken coverage or broken plays for big gains.
Summary
A fake punt on own 30 to start, a missed kickoff goof in ball not being covered, results in the 6 Texas points. Colt is hurt and obviously very missed because his 70% completion % turns into a lousy 5-23 with the backup 'til he got sometiming down. Texas gives up a big TD run over 50 yards. With half coming to close, a shovel pass??? Why not kneel down and half over? Not to be, INT for TD. No body really does anything in 3rd, then Texas backup QB hits a couple of long TDs against a top notch Bama D??? Colt would of lit them up I tell you. Bama couldnt do anything passing, their QB was pretty bad too, but he was on his back a lot. No TO's was good on his behalf. So the Texas comeback came to life, but quickly ended with the Longhorns QB fumbling away their chances on the 2 yard line... Bama strikes twice in last 2 min. Pretty Lousy game for Champions.
For a championship game, I feel embarrassed to have seen that.... Boise ST and even Iowa could of played a better game.
Well, with that said, lets get ready for some NFL.
