Is anyone going to take Boise State plus the points tomorrow? The line is basically TCU -7.5, with a couples of 7's in Vegas, and Bomutt at -8. The MWC has really gained a head of steam in their efforts to be the 7th BCS Conference. Everyone is on the bandwagon now. If TCU wins, with the Cincinnati loss and the loss by either 'Bama or Texas, TCU will be the #2 team in the nation, at least in the AP Poll. That will be the 2nd time in two years that a MWC team has finished #2 in the AP poll. The pressure will squarely be on TCU. The fate of the MWC's bid to become a BCS Conference may be riding on this game. Will the pressure be too much, or will TCU run Boise into the ground?

#2I'm taking Boise State. They played TCU tough last year, losing a 1-point game. TCU has won 3 straight bowl games, but all close. They didn't cover last year and were lucky to cover the year before (can't remember who they played). They were a pick em 3 years ago.
I also think not playing in the title game might be a letdown, since it was announced they would have made it if Texas had lost to Nebraska. Boise has been here before, so I'd expect a solid effort and close game.Comment -

#3I like Boise and the points. TCU's wins have been impressive but the BCS teams they played were average early in the season. It does appear that TCU's offense has really cranked it up after the Air Force close win very similar to UF's run last year so that scares me. Plus their win over Utah and BYU were pretty impressive. For some reason I just think Boise has been there before (even if they are 1-4 last bowls) and will be better prepared while TCU may be starry eyed. I expect Boise to come out and punch TCU in the mouth and take the first half and TCU may grind them out in the 2nd half. Either way I expect it to be fairly close.Comment -

#5WEll, we have a middle, TCU -4 to Boise -8. I hope that we can hit it. Last year,TCU won a ver close game, but it was in the Pointsettia Bowl, and while Boise State was undefeated, like they are again this year, TCU had 2 losses. TCU also has covered their 3 previous bowl games before last years game. I am working on a proposal that would get the MWC into the BCS as the 7th BCS Conference. Details a bit later. A TCU win really helps my argument.Comment -

#7Question for you Big-----when you say you are working on a proposal to get the MWC into the BCS---exactly what does that mean?
Who are you preparing that for?
And I have to ask, how or who is going to force the university presidents/conference commissioners to sit down and vote the MWC in?
Orwin Hatch tried that last year----he being a US Senator and all----and that didn't go too well for him.
Best of luck though.Comment -

#8My only problem is the schedule. Who has Boise State beaten? Oregon, at home? Okay, een though Oregon laid an egg in the Rose Bowl. Who else? The WAC is not very good. They are 1-2 this bowl season, and that win was a 1 point win againt a MAC team. Meanwhile the MWC has won every bowl game they have played. TCU defeated a better Boise State team last year, even though TCU had 2 losses. That is why I can not support Boise State.Comment -

The Mtn West is a much tougher conference.
And TCU has played a tougher schedule.
But Boise has made a believer of me. I think they are a pretty good football team playing in a crappy conference.Comment -

#10And one thing I wanted to add was the idea of the Mountain West becoming a BCS conference.
I could be wrong, but I am fairly certain the MWC Commish---Craig Thompson addressed the issue last spring. Thompson admitted that all 11 conferences agreed to the current structure of the BCS---including the Mountain West-----and that he informed his university presidents that there is no relaxation of the contract the way it is structured.
In order for the Mountain West to be included---it would need 9 of the 11 conferences---voting to change the rules----or an act of Congress. I don't see either one of those happening. The current BCS conferences will do whatever they need to do to protect their golden goose.Comment -

#11Not sure but I might take the points... MWC certainly has done well in games so far, but sometimes when the top team of a conference plays the top team in another the Big BCS Bowls, late in the bowl season, it is different. Like some SEC teams faltered, but FLA pounded Cincy. TCU still a bit of unknown. Points might be a good value.Comment -

#12If TCU has the defense that everyone says, "they are better than Texas, They are The best defense in the country" then they should control Boise states offense since boise hasnt seen a good defense....so with all the boise backers in this thread maybe the BCS got it right....I think TCU -7 is the play and they beat Boise by double digitsComment -

#25I have TCU -1.5 as the last leg on a 4 team teaser for a decent chunk of change so I may hedge with something on Boise? I guess Boise could lose by 2-7 points and I could win both sides or hedge my money with a Boise upset? However, I really think TCU will expose them on both sides of the ball! Boise reminds me of Cincinnati somewhat and they haven't played anyone with TCU's speed! That lefty QB for Boise is going to be in for a shock when those little bootlegs aren't wide open like they are in the WAC and he's got 2 purple jerseys right on him! In fact I'm trying to find some other sides for a pleaser play...TCU wins by 14 or more imo!Comment -
