This will be an extemely emotional game, and these types of games can go either way. Florida State is going to score a lot of points in this game. The question is how many will West Virginia score. They have averaged only 20 in their past 5 games. West Virginia has won their last 4 bowl games, but covered only half of them. Their last bowl loss was to, you guessed it, Florida State. This is also a battle between Florida States wishy-washy defense against West Virginia's wishy-washy coaching staff. The obvious play is West Virginia at -3 (-2.5 in some Vegas books), but is the obvious play the correct one? The truth of the matter is that Florida State does not belong in this game, but neither does West Virginia.

West Virginia should cover the 2.5 point spread in the Bye-Bye-Bowden Bowl.

Florida State +3 for me. Despite Bowden's bad seasons, look at his bowl record the last few years. He's still covering in his bowl games, including a wipeout last year to a pretty good Wisconsin team.

FSU is inconsistent, but they have talent on both sides of the ball. West Virginia is a much better defensive team under Stewart than Rodriquez, but not as good on offense (White and Slaton tough to replace obviously).

I see close game, FSU 27-24.

And to top it all off, Bowden will get upstaged by the man that he could never catch. The Penn State-LSU game is on the same time that Florida State-West Virginia is on. Both start at 1:00 eastern, 10 pacific. Care to place a wager as to who wins the ratings game? Which game would you watch if you could only watch one game, and both are close?

This is a pretty good post. I believe the ACC and the Gator Bowl have been at odds, and the Gator Bowl is changing from the SEC to the ACC next season. The Gator Bowl is actually struggling a little and the Bowl obviously wants to sell tickets, but so many ACC schools don't travel at all. This isn't the first time they've picked a "less deserving team" in favor of one that travels and it has peeved the ACC a bit. So this is one last stick move from the Gator Bowl selection crew to the ACC. WV should probably be favored by more, but this will be an extremely emotional game. FSU should have an advantage playing 2 and a half hours away from Tallahassee and sell some seats for Bowdens last game. They played Alabama in Jacksonville 2-3 years ago and won (I think).
Talent wise the play is WV, but when you throw in the entangibles it gives FSU the edge. It'd also be interesting to see which conference is officiating.

I like FSU to win this one outright. It reminds me of the Fla/Mich game in Carrs last game 3yrs ago. This team will come out motivated & send Bowden out a winner. I like FSU +2.5 & ov60 as well. It should be one of the more entertaining games on today.

WVU up to -3 now..$ moving against Bobby in his finale. But I don't trust Bill Stewart enough to lay pts here.
