Idaho-1(2units) Interesting game…Digging into the common opponent which was Boise State some surprising numbers can be found…1st, BG was on a bad slide to begin the year which is when they caught Boise at home and lost 49-14 Idaho caught Boise also when sliding on a downward hill later in it’s season and lost 63-25...In that game for Idaho they was playing their 2nd string QB and had injuries on the defensive side as well…Idaho still racked up 514 total yards against Boise’s 458! BG could only muster 282 to Boise’s 529...Also Interesting…Idaho with the 2nd string qb trew for 209 yards and BG’s “high powered” passing game could only manage 189...Boise jumped out to a 43-0 lead on BG in ohio but had a early fight on their hands With Idaho at one point 21-10 in the 2nd qrt. At home…Vandal qb Nathan Enderle is expected back for this game which kept him out 2+ games to end the Idaho year which you can assume accounted for Idaho’s late season swoon…He has put together a tremendous third season as Idaho's starting quarterback, including ranking No. 7 nationally in passing efficiency and that’s better then Tebow at 16...Idaho has a 1st rate Offensive line(remember Wisconsin last nite) Vandals are getting heatlier on the defensive side of the ball and should be better then their reputation today in that Vandals will have safety Jeromy Jones and cornerback Aaron Grymes back in the fold and healthy for the first time in weeks, which should help tremendously… Grymes is probably the best cover corner on the Vandal defense (and is among the fastest players on the team)..Freddie Barnes will not have a cake walk with Grymes playing… Idaho is as healty as it has been in awile..they will play tough today!
BG being designated the visiting team, the Falcons will suit up in the home team locker room normally utilized by Boise State. Idaho, which is Boise State's No. 1 rival, will use the visiting locker room, as well as the Broncos' wrestling room. There was little to no chance the Vandals would set foot in the home locker room…BG coach Dave Clawson gladly accepts the more spacious and lavish facilities…
It is bad enough Idaho lost to Boise on this Blue Turf…If they lose to BG on hated Boise’s field they will never hear the end of it…Idaho wants this more!
