    Utah/Cal
UTAH+3(2Units) …This is entirely about if Utah can stuff the cal running game…1996...Thats when Wisconsin freshman Ron Dayne pounded his way to 246 yards in the Copper Bowl and That's also the last time the Utes lost a bowl game… The Utes rank only 57th in the country in rushing defense this year…They are allowing 141 yards a game….TCU's 342 yards and Oregon's 217 yards are mostly the result of Those teams having running quarterbacks which gave Utah problems this year….The Bears' approach is a more of a pro-style straightforward offense that lines up and dares a defense to stop it or else Cal will just keep running….Interesting in that The Bears average 29 points, yet scored a total of 30 points in their four Pac-10 losses When they could not run, they were done…I think Utah brings problems to teams in these Bowls with their man to man corners and gearing up with the extra help to stop the run…The Teams that meet Utah just are freaked out I think in how they go about their defense…
Losing Jahvid Best is a blessing for Utah but the other guy is quite good…not much drop-off between the two…Here’s something Very interesting…Cals Offensive Coordinator was Utahs offensive coordinator for four years to 2008 …Andy Ludwig, having spent the previous four years scrimmaging against Utah's defense in April and August as the Utes' offensive coordinator. He also directed offenses for Fresno State and Oregon that averaged 15 points in two games against Ute defenses coached by Whittingham, while struggling to run the ball….so It’s going to be a battle of Ludwig vs. Whittingham…Whittingham has won both battles so far and my money says he will again….Stop Cals Run…They are Done! They have folded like a cheap tent this year.

California is 3-13 ATS after a game where they forced no turnovers.(lost to Washington 42-10)

UTAH 24-10 ATS record when playing with two weeks or more of rest over the last 17 years.

UTAH 11-2 ATS after allowing 275 or less total yards in consecutive games.

Bears Are 108th in the nation in pass defense,(Whewww) allowing 260.9 yards per game, with 17 TD passes.(Cal Senior cornerback Syd'Quan Thompson, whose status )

Cal with coach Jeff Tedford are 4-13 ATS when the line is +3 to -3, losing by 4.1 points a game.

The Utes run the spread-option offense, routinely setting up in the shotgun formation with one running back (or an empty backfield) and three or four wide receivers. …(rut roh for cal betters) Oregon used the spread-option to shred the Bears on Sept. 26, gaining 524 yards of total offense in EASY 42-3 victory.

Impressive stats to counter the SOS argument. I think that Utah + ML is a good play. It is all about ROI. I took Utah +155 ML a week ago. A small wager (for me, at least). I think getting over 3/2 and Utah even is a very good risk for the reward.

This spread is so "wacked-out"! Cal got pounded by Washington by 30pts..And they're favorites vs a very solid utah team?

        fishy!

        Cal!
