Utah wins this. Cal is disappointed in their year, and these small conference teams love showing up for these bowls and knocking off the big conference counterpart.

OK, here's the way I see it. Utah is just as good as BYU. Oregon State is better then Cal. BYU beats Oregon State by 20+. There is absolutely no reason Utah doesn't win easily straight up.

With that said, flip a coin people, that's all these games are: coinflips.

My $0.02: Utah on this one. Wrapped up last season 12-0 then spanked Alabama in the Sugar (23 pt cover, by the way). Bama left that game with a lil mor than 200 yds rushing. Also gave Utah 8 straight bowl wins. That was last year...this year theyre a shell of the '08 team: 53rd ranked O and 22nd ranked D. Cal has QB Riley (2636 yds, 17TDs, 6 INTs). Best is still out but his backup is posting 170+yds/gm avg. Utah giving up 13ppg in the last 22 - with the exception of TCU - and Cal giving up 30+ in 4 of last 11 and coming off the 42-10 spanking from Washington (39pt ATS loss, by the way). Game is in San Diego - weather is looking good but edge goes to Utah backs Wide and Reed - both 1,000yd gainers on the ground and in the air.

This is the first play of the bowl season for my crazy money picks. Utah +155 ML. As I stated yesterday, with the Big 10 looking to move to 12 teams, the Pac 10 will be lookingto do the same. Utah and BYU are two of the more obvious possibilities, and want to showcase their talents to the Pac 10. What better way than to beat Pac 10 teams.

Thinking about a 2 or 3 team parlay with this game. Utah ML with Miami -3.5...and thinking about tossin in LSU - still undecided on ML or +2.5. I just cant see the Big 10 hanging with the SEC or ACC, and Im an Ohio State/Big 10 Homer. Am I losing my mind?

Man. I went way to heavy on OSU last night, so take my pick for what it's worth. Trying to get back, I'm taking the Utah ML +125. Utah has bowl history on it's side, a great passing attack, and I see the game playing out a lot like OSU BYU yesterday.

Be careful with determining how last nights game proves the MWC is so much better than the PAC 10. Oregon State was not interested in being in the game last night and it showed. The fact that everyone is on Utah makes me want to take Cal. Seems to be a one of those one sided situations, which the books seem to profit on more than not.

Public money is split 49% Utah 51% Cal. That's ATS anyway.
